Comics Dopers: Help Me Solve The Sheedeva Comics Mystery!

So. I need to make some money and have gone through my book collection and have discovered that one of my adult comic books, Sheedeva #1 the Trade Paperback by Sandra Chang, is apparently very rare. My copy is in Very Good condition.

Kinda NSFW because of tiny drawing of naked woman butt on cover

I found it for sale online in Very Good condition at Amazon.com for $550. Well, it USED to be on sale there. The sale got taken down, I assume because somebody bought it.

There were two other copies for sale at Amazon but they were in merely Acceptable condition with water stains, writing inside them, etc., one for circa $150.00 and one for $220 – and when books in that condition are for sale at that price, you have to figure they’re rare and desirable.

I also found a copy in Very Good condition that had been on auction on Ebay starting at $250, but no one bought it, in fact, it didn’t even have any watchers on it.

Well, that was a puzzler, why did the one copy sell for over $500 and the other NOT sell for less than half that, given that both were in Very Good condition? Anybody got any ideas?

But the more pertinent question on my mind is, where are the people who would be interested in collecting adult comics like Sheedeva at? And it occurred to me, some of the comics Dopers might just know offhand of a website or forum or some kind of group that might be useful in selling my copy of Sheedeva? I could try selling it on Amazon but no telling how long that $500 copy was up.

(I also discovered that a paperback copy of Our Virgin Island by Robb White sold for $70 on ebay at one time, apparently it’s quite rare … but the rabbits we used to keep got at our copy and nibbled it senseless, and it isn’t worth diddly. Stinkin’ rabbits!)

Heritage auctions is where I go to purchase original artwork and rare comics. But I’ve never sold anything through it. But truly rare stuff goes for a pretty price, there.

Thanks, it does look like a promising site and I so see that signed prints by the Sheedeva artist are on sale there so they prolly won’t have a problem with the adult nature of the publication.

Here’s one on eBay that failed to move recently at at $250 price (and I notice they’re quoting the same $500 Amazon listing to justify their price.)

Yes, that’s the one I cited in my OP:

Not necessarily. The seller’s rabbits might have eaten it.

Sure, but have you checked eBay?

Stuff like that–I think you almost have to price it high and then wait for the person who’s interested in it to notice.

It’s a distinct possibility.

Yes, I was just hoping there might be a venue for collectors that might get it noticed more and faster, and the Heritage Auctions site does sound like it might be that.
