I’m trying to put together a class for a coming-of-age novel course and am looking for short stories or essays that can be read and discussed within an hour or so. Any suggestions?
Katherine Anne Porter wrote a very short story called “The Grave” that is about a girl’s coming-of-age.
Also Edna St. Vincent Millay wrote “Childhood is the Kingdom Where Nobody Dies” It’s a poem that is about a page long about coming-of-age and dealing with death.
If I can think of any others I’ll post them.
