Well, they’ve brought Spyke back, it seems. After the extensive retooling of his character. Now, instead of a bumbling twit, he’s a moderately-competant twit. With an exoskeleton.
Who…can set his bones on fire, somehow.
I’m still puzzling over that.
Did the guys at WB think that it would have been “pushing it” if they just gave him Superman’s powers to make him “cooler”?
In any case, I’m glad they deepened his voice. It almost makes his dialogue easier to listen to.
And, the downfall of Duncan…Umm, how exactly do a High-School Football player and his cronies get ahold of freakin’ energy weapons, exactly? K-Mart? Dr. Doom’s have a yard sale?
And, with the introduction of Leach…anyone think the writers were watching “Akira,” by any chance?
Ranchoth
(“Tetsuoooo!”
“Leeeeach!”
“Evaaaaan!”)
I certainly thought that. Or, at least, my exact thoughts were something along the lines of “Hey cool, he’s just like the guy in Akira!” when he blasted everything out at the end.
But the fact that he can grow spikes out of his arms and launch them at high velocity without bleeding to death from gaping holes in his flesh makes perfect sense to you?
I thought the episode was interesting…would have been MORE interesting without “the Porcupine”, but hey it actually made sense for the twit. He’s still not intimidating, though. Maybe he just whips out a Bic and lights them up? And since when is he strong enough to flip up a manhole cover?
I was wondering where Duncan got the energy weapons too…have they said his last name? Is it Trask, possibly?
Ol’ Leech is their way intp the Big A’s domes, of course. I wonder what would have happened if Nightcrawler and Beast had been around when Leech did his thing?
Hey, at least organic-oriented superpowers are self consistent. I mean, if you were beefing up Nightcrawler’s powers, you wouldn’t suddenly give him the ability to breathe underwater and talk to insects.
I missed the episode, can someone spoil the whole thing for please? Is this another one that has nothing to do with Apoc?
