All land-line telephones are out of action in a large area of the south of England!
(including emergency services).
I am posting this from my PDA.
The tv news seems strangely tight-lipped about it all. I fear there may be more to this than meets the eye.

A telephony breakdown? How quaint.
Well, BT texted me this morning to let me know it’s all up and running again; it was most of Hampshire and parts of South Wiltshire - I haven’t seen any news today yet, so I don’t know what was the cause, but it was big panic last night for the emergency services.
