That was absolutely hilarious! I couldn’t stop laughing! Some great bits in there - Chang hearing about buried treasurer while focusing on emergency meeting and writing down ‘tomato’, The computer fucking professor (Oh, he meant that literally - the Dean was hilarious in every scene), Duncan and Hickey sharing drinks and almost coming to the realization that they may be related, the meta-non-story-story, heck, I even thought the Britta and Jeff ‘proposal’ was kind of funny (let’s do a number 8).
Ah, that was great stuff!
I thought it kinda weak, actually, and that’s something of a first for me and Community.
I’m wondering if, starting with the board members wanting to sell the school, it’s all in Abed’s head.
That started out very strangely. But it ended well.
“Tomato”
I thought it was awful. There was a serious dearth of jokes (aside from the tiny quantity of meta-humour that comes from saying “look at how nothing is happening”), some awkward Subway ™ promotion, and it just seemed like a waste of time. The previous season is starting to look better and better in retrospect…
When they list things they fixed they include the gas leak. Seems to me that it’s worse then ever the last two episodes.
But they did get the gymnasium demons exorcised, so they’ve got that going for them.
Loved the fact that of the six Americans killed yearly by unstable vending machines … five are insurance appraisers testing the stability of said machines. “So I take this very seriously.”
That was the real laugh-out-loud moment for me, I don’t recall another.
Other than the Subway references, it wasn’t particularly funny. I really think the show has lost its edge.
How could anyone not find the closing bit with John Oliver and Jonathan Banks hilarious?
Edit: Max, it was OK, but the, we might be parent and child, bit has been done to death in my opinion.
This is the second time they’ve had a Subway tie-in. It’s also the second time they’ve mocked Subway, kind of like how the Simpsons mock Fox and Rupert Murdoch. They must be a main sponsor and have a great sense of humor.
Is that something established?
Ha! Ha! Scunthorpe has the letters “c-u-n-t” in it! Hi-larious!
Agreed, these last two have left me cold.
