Competitors to Constant Contact?

Hi, I helped someone setup Constant Contact for email marketing campaigns, but they find that it’s quirky when editing content within the templates, and as a result it takes them a long time to change the content and pictures.

Has anyone used a service similar to Constant Contact (I know Vertical Response is one) that they really like and is easy to use?

Constant Contact apparently does some unwanted monitoring they refuse to turn off. They’re also really bad at posting fake comments to boost their own software. (Lying is one thing, but incompetent lying just makes everyone look cheap.)

It really is interesting what you can find out these days. Constant Contact should realize that.

Are they working for a nonprofit? If so CC is fine, it does the trick and can be made to look and function just fine. I used it with much success.

If the budget is not an issue graphic designers can come up with very nice customized templates from Adobe InDesign.

Consider Devore technologies. I use them for email marketing campaigns and MUCH prefer their system to Constant Contact.

Campaign Monitor is more directly along the lines of what Constant Contact does (an email service provider, as opposed to a hosting/design company). I have not (yet) tried them out personally, but they were the ones who launched the Email Standards Project, which gives them a big bump in respectability in my eyes (being an email marketing designer).

There’s also Emma, but I have absolutely zero experience with them. And Exact Target, which I do have experience with (it’s decent and is fairly robust, but it has it’s own quirks you need to work with), but I think their pricing is going to be out of reach for a smaller organization with a smaller budget.
