I was a vicitim of ID theft last year I reported it to all the agencies recommended on the FTC website (http://www.consumer.gov/idtheft/), including the three main Credit Reporting Agencies (Experian, Trans Union, and Equifax). However I discovered this year, when I tried to open a new bank account, that there was whole bunch more erroneous data on the CRA the banks use (Chex-System). This database is not mentioned anywhere on the FTC site…
Now I’m worried in case there are databases out there full of records from the industious little #$%& who stole my wallet… Is there a complete list anywhere on the web of all the CRA who are covered by the FCRA…? After all, if I can’t find out if these databases exist, what use is the right to access/dispute these databases if I don’t actually know they exist…
