Completely Freaked Out!

Its too late for this event, but just to be on the safe side, I’d take pictures of EVERYTHING in the apartment. We took a film and a half of pictures, including jewelery, CDs and TV, kitchen stuff (the dishes and glasses, the cutlery set from my SOs parents wedding - his mom is deceased, so the sentimental value is HUGE, etc.) Take pictures in context, so you can point to a location and say “it was over there, next to the couch” or something. I have a copy of the pics in the apartment, and I gave a copy to my mom, because you just never know. Quite frankly, a 5th floor apartment in a 200-unit building isn’t really a theft risk, but we had a problematic roommate with a scumbitch girlfriend, both of whom we don’t trust at all, and since we kicked them out we figured it would be best to just take precautions. It also shows the insurance company EXACTLY what you have, and where it was, and they can estimate the value of the lost items better.

I’m sorry you were robbed, and I’m hoping for you that you get your things back, especially the jewelery. Good for you for not letting this paralyze your life - its a horrible breach of privacy/your life, but it shouldn’t halt it all together.
