Are there any companies out there offering quad-SLI systems?
There are a few workstation MOBO’s that have 4 PCI-e slots, but the spacing isn’t enough to allow 4 high end cards, just 4 medium (single hight) cards. Alienware currently makes a 3 Way SLI monster as does boutique maker Falcon Northwest. Tom’s Hardware review on the Falcon system.
Intel’s “Skulltrail” setup is supposed to be the next big thing from them (dual socket system with 4 pci-e slots), but again, TH says to wait because it needs work bad.
Tom’s Hardware is a fantastic resource on this type of stuff.
Thank you-that’s one hell of a writeup. It looks like all the companies that were going to offer the quad-SLI have backed out of the deal. That triple-SLI at Falcon Northwest looks nice, but too damn expensive for what they offer, in my opinion.
