My Sony laptop SVE151190X running Windows 7 mutes the sound as soon a I plug a projector into the HDMI port. How do I stop this idiotice behavior? I don’t see anything that looks like it would work in Control Panel.
HDMI also carries sound, so when you plug in an HDMI cable, it’s trying to output sound through that instead of the regular speakers you have hooked up through the audio port. Try right clicking the speaker icon, click playback devices, and poke around in changing the default device with the HDMI plugged in. Hopefully that helps.
That worked, thanks. I unplugged the projector to get back to the laptop screen before trying to fix the problem, so right click menu disappeared for me.
