I will admit to not being the most computer-savvy person in the world. I have one, it generally does what I ask it to do, and I don’t visit a lot of high-infection-risk sites. That said, I have three issues:
When I go to You-Tube, often the video will not load immediately. It will start, then stop, then start, then stop…so on. Annoying.
When you view videos on Youtube, they stream from Youtube’s servers, which means that the start of the video is already playing before the end of the video is loaded on your computer. If you have a slow connection (or if you have other downloads going on at the same time eating up your bandwidth), the video will play faster than it can download, and it will have to pause as it downloads some more. One way to avoid this is to pause the video for a while before you start watching it… that way, it’ll have time to load more of it and you won’t “catch up” so fast. You can see how much of it is loaded by the red line on the slider.
My mouse is double-clicking without my consent and approval. Have I worn it out? Do I need to replace the furry accessory, or just spank it into submission? If spanking is the answer, how do I proceed?
You can turn down the sensitivity for double clicking, that might help. Assuming you’re using Windows, click on Start > Control Panel > Mouse. The middle section has a slider that controls how sensitive it is to double-clicking. If you drag the slider to the right (towards Fast), it’ll increase the speed at which you have to click the mouse buttons before it’s recognized as a double click. On the other hand, if your mouse never used to do this, it might be time for a replacement.
I have some sort of background music playing - I cannot find out where it came from (it’s not anything I listen to) and I can’t shut it off other than by shutting off my speakers. Help!
Eek! We might need some more details on this one… Does the music start as soon as Windows loads?
I will admit to being fairly ignorant of computer workings, so if anyone is kind enough to reply to this, please explain things in steps if possible.
If you are going to reply to this just to snark at my ignorance:  . Your weren’t born with the knowledge you have.
Thank you muchly in advance for any helpful replies.
