Computer speakers...help?

I want to buy some new speakers for my computer, there are so many out there I don’t know where to start. I am willing to spend $200-$300. I have a Soundblaster live soundcard, PII 450, 128 mb RAM, Win98.

Altec Lansing is an amazing brand. Even just the three piece set (two speakers and a subwoofer) are incredible!!

Altec Lansing ADA 880 Dolby Digital Surround & Subwoofer Speaker System refurbs (what I have) are probably the best speaker set “deal” in the PC universe at $90- 120 on the web. Originally retailed for over 300. Huge, powerful sub and excellent 4 channel stacking tower setup and remote control. For other opinions see-

Cambridge SoundWorks Desktop Theater 5.1 DTT3500 Digital is also highly regarded.

Thanks you! Whoa…I like that Cambridge SoundWorks Desktop Theater 5.1 DTT3500 Digital system, but I don’t know where I’d put all that stuff. I’m kind of shoved into a corner of the dining room now. Thanks, I have a starting point now.
