Hi, Here’s my 2nd computer question for the day. I’m looking to upgrade my computer (a 400 amd k6-2) to a 1ghz athlon. One problem is that I have an old scanner (hp 4p) that works great and don’t want to replace it since it works and can scan leagal size paper.
This scanner has a scsi interface and came with a scsi card that was made to only work w/ this scanner. The card is an ISA card and is limiting my choice of motherboards and causing be to play that card shuffel to get all the irq’s in place. This card has survived win3.1, 95, 98 and 4 motherboard upgrade.
I would like to know should I get a pci scsi card, keep the isa card or get a usb to scsi adapter. I am concerned if i get a replacement it will not work but would like to get away from ISA. I like the idea of usb to scsi since it shouldn’t require an irq.
Anybody have any advise?
