Concrete Buffer Gone Wild

This is funny.
A machine gets away and workers try to stop it.

He means this: Concrete Buffer Gone Wild - YouTube

It’s 2.5 minutes, and not all that great. Starts out *real *slow. A bit of unintentional slapstick in the middle.

Jesus, what nimrods were recording the commentary?

I thought they were pretty funny.

I like this related video. See if you can figure out what happens when he finishes the cut. Hint…the pipe doesn’t roll away with him on it (that was my guess).

Maybe it got better after I turned it off but I felt like I was trapped in MST3K hell for that minute and a half.

It’s pretty obvious. The pipe was supported at some distance off camera to the left & right. The point he was working on was under some vertical stress. When he cut the last bit, the part he was sitting on jumped upwards a foot or so, then vibrated up & down as the energy was dissipated. All the movement bucked him off.

That’s pretty typical when cutting any big long thing that’s unsupported at the point of a cut. Loggers have the same problem.

I get what happened…I just didn’t expect it beforehand. Like I said, my guess was that when he finished the cut (for all I knew it was a 20 foot section unattached to anything else) the section he was sitting on was going to roll away.
