Congratulations, America. You're worse than Afghanistan.

On behalf of America, I would like to thank all the wonderful people who helped make this happen; my mother, my wife, and my daughter; the cast of Jersey Shore, who did more than anyone to help make this country a bit worse; the NFL replacement referees, who are probably somehow responsible; the fans, without whom none of this would matter; and God, through whom all things are possible.

Yawn. You’re kind of a one-trick pony lately with this issue. Get a new shtick.

The OP is talking about domestic detention, and contrasting Karzi’s alleged position (against) with Obama’s (for).

Grumman’s problem here (and in his many, many other attempts on the same subject) is that he appears to believe that drone attacks which result in civilian casualties and continuing detention (with no apparent end) of accused terrorists (and other related issues) trumps every other issue combined. For me it doesn’t. I would have voted for Obama even if Romney wanted to stop all drone attacks and close Guantanamo (assuming other positions stay the same). I think Republican positions on social-welfare spending and health care would cause far more human suffering (in the long run) than the Obama administration’s actions with drones and anti-terrorism- and the Republicans are far worse than Obama on drones and stuff anyway. And I think that a vote for a third-party, in most cases, is the same as a vote for the Republican party. So I had no choice- the only vote for me, to help America and the world, was a vote for Obama. I stand by it- it really was a very easy decision.

So that’s it, Grumman. I care about the drone and anti-terrorism stuff, but not more than I care about health care, the economy, social-welfare programs, etc. It’s really not even close.

Aaaaaand RavenMan wins the thread.

Hitler.

Grumman, life will go so much more relaxing for you when you accept the fact that this is America’s world and the rest of you are just allowed to occupy it temprarily.

Damn straight, Homey. Load the Glock and pass the ammo!

Indefinitely, even.

Never let the FACTS get in the way

Ah, so it’s another lost-the-election-butt-hurt thread then. Which doesn’t make sense, since you’re not from around here.

Butthurt … Everywhere.

Is there even an “Afghanistan” that exists as single, discrete noun? We have installed a money pit in Kabul, by all accounts an utterly corrupt phantom government that has as much affect outside the city limits of Kabul as Rev. Al Sharpton.

If we leave, bad shit will happen. If we stay, bad shit will happen. Let it happen to somebody else for a while.

Hasn’t stopped Sam.

Proof that America doesn’t have a patent on butt-hurt assholes crouching their douchebaggery in sanctimonious crap.

It’s amazing the things people will blame on the President, as if he has some all encompassing power or something. Such as a FB friend who thought Obama should be doing more to repair the power outages after Sandy. Or a lady I overheard yesterday claiming that Romney would have made sure that women get paid the same as men. (???)

Newsflash - no one person can do everything, no matter who s/he is. Another newsflash - don’t believe everything the talking heads on TV tell you.

Again, nonsense. Provide us with evidence that Obama is trying to make the situation better but just doesn’t have the power.

HE IS ACTIVELY TRYING TO INCREASE THIS SHIT so the claims that he’d be a good guy but he just doesn’t have the power are absurd.

The Constitution does not apply to foreign nationals outside the US.

There is a pretty famous con law case where DEA agents violated all sorts of rights while forcibly extraditing (read kidnapping) a drug kingpin from his home in mexico to stand trial in the US. I think SCOTUS limited the rights under the constitution to US citizens andn people who are physically in the US.

In Obama’s defense, there may be less detainees because he’s ramped up the “blow them up (along with a few innocents) Instead of detaining them” program.

Grumman: Australian for hysterical.
