An ending part? Whatever does that mean? Are you twelve?
Sorry, I’ve been at work all day and then out at the movies.
We will. President Obama will have it done by the end of his first term (most likely after the mid-term elections, when your guys will lose even more seats). I will fudge and say it may not be fully implemented until his second term, just because the obstructionist fucks still have some tricks up their sleeves. Stupid tricks, for sure (like this latest Pelosi distraction crap. Pelosi?? Give me a break), but tricks nonetheless, so President Obama…man, I love saying that…President Obama will have to do workarounds and a bit of backtracking here and there, no doubt pissing off the progressives, but he’ll do whatever he needs to do to make an end run around the conservatives, and he WILL do it.
What, you really don’t believe that gay marriage is coming, just because of Prop 8? Seriously? If the California Supreme Court doesn’t strike it down, it’ll get back on the ballot and you can bet your Hannity underpants that the voters would strike it down this time. Valuable lessons were learned (by gay marriage supporters) that will come in handy next time.
As anyway, as I said, you’ll have victories every now and then. Gloat while you have the chance, because you’re not going to have too many more. To put it in parlance that you warmongers understand, you’ll win some battles, but we’ll win the war. It’s already won, actually (Iowa, baby, IOWA!), there’s just some mopping up to do. Ok, a LOT of mopping up, but it’ll get done. It’s being worked on.
Edit to add:
It’s not an argument, it was a gloat regarding the GOP losing demographics. It was a pretty juvenile thing to say actually, I’ll admit that, but it was fun to say.
OK. If you two can’t determine it then I will.
It’s the wrong time, chief. The right time was maybe 30 or 40 years ago. You know–when the civilized counties did it. It’s not too late for you to de-fossilize, dino. But can you? And can your backward brethren?
WE THE PEOPLE are FUCKS!!!. Sad, but true. Go watch some more TV and eat some more McD’s… Yummmmmmm…!!! THERE it is! God BLESS America!
THEY the People in the civilized nations of Earth have realized that universal health care is a net benefit to their societies. One day we will probably get there… but with no help from you and the other knuckle-draggers.
Still waiting! You’re not going to chicken out on me, Ms Stream, are you?
I would argue that we the people did indeed vote for it when we elected a president who ran with the creation of public accessibility to a healthcare plan option as a main platform position. That’s who we chose, not the blithering fool who told lies about people using healthcare insurance for hair plugs. That didn’t happen in a bubble.
ITT: trolling by a dumb bitch who wants more American babies to die from an archaic obsolete health care system.
That has yet to be demonstrated. Obviously Obama disagrees with you, however.
Oh yes…‘the civilized countries’, presumably of Europe. You mean the one’s who did it by relying on us to carry the water for them on the military side so they’d have the money to do so?
So, anyone not in lock step with our wonderful Euro buddies is a ‘dino’, ehe? ROOOOOAAAAAARRRRRRR!
Basically your argument here seem to boil down to ‘We are uncivilized since we eat McDonalds and don’t have UHC like the more civilized nations of the earth…and anyone who disagrees with me is a dino’. If that’s all you gots…well, I’m militantly unconvinced. And the irony is…I think there is some merit to looking at some serious change to our health care system. I’m simply unconvinced by silly insults and appeals to supposed European superiority as the basis for what we should do, or what is best for us to do.
Uhuh…very convincing! Yes…Europe is a shinning beacon of light in an otherwise dark world!
Or maybe, despite the fact that the US has been carrying their water for them for decades on the military side of things, their economies will collapse under the weight of all of their social programs. WITH the help of you feather headed, pie in the sky and militantly clueless types (since we are tossing around insults so freely I figured I might as well chime in…being a ‘dino’ and all).

You mean the one’s who took us for the fools that we are and profited themselves by it?
And worse, they aren’t even grateful! Here we went to all the sacrifice and effort to make ourselves the most powerful military force in human history, and you’ll hear them mutter dark suggestions that our motives were selfish! Boy, some people, huh? When the patriots at Lockheed, etc. were forced to swallow tons of public money to protect Yurpeens, did they flinch? Did they back away from the flood of money that swelled them to bursting? They did not!
I cannot continue, the rush of emotion of our nobility is simply too much for me…
Lol…yeah, those guys. I never said they weren’t smart…
-XT
You certainly implied it.
I did? Well, if so then I didn’t mean to. I think our Euro buddies are hypocrites with a past that makes Attila look good…but I don’t think they are stupid.
-XT
Hypocrisy? You really sure you want to go there?
Yup, SMART people choose socialized medicine. It’s dummys like US that prattle on about the virtues of the insurance companies.
The government is involved in health care through things like medicare, the liscensing of medical doctors, and the FDA declaring what drugs can and cannot be used, all enforced by the threat of violence.
Secondly any government national health care will use threats of violence to achieve its goals just as any government action does. Voting or supporting those who support national health care is supporting the use of violence and threats thereof for the purpose of healthcare. I for one believe that violence for this reason is unjustifiable.
Well, that will have to wait until Obama sends ACORN to take all our guns…
Not OUR guns, just bobthebuilder’s.
“If you don’t get that sparained ankle looked at by a doctor, we’re going to invade Iraq, AGAIN!!!”
(bolding mine)What the hell are you talking about?
By that logic, voting or supporting those who support any government action is supporting the use of violence for that purpose. Which is completely absurd.
Quite simply I am stating that any law is backed up by the force of arms. All government action is back up by the threat of violence. Every. Single. One.
No, maybe something you dont want to recognize but something that is clearly true. How is it absurd? are you denying that violence is the backing of all government policy? Are you denying that the enforcement of law is always done by violence? To me it seems as if this is something that you are choosing not be recognize, not something that is actually absurd.
Now, not being pacifist I am okay with government doing some actions, because at times violence in warranted. I cannot vote or support for the use of violence accept in very few cases, and healthcare is not one of them.
