Even if (as is likely) the Republican candidate wins, having a Democrat in the runoff, within two percentage points of the GOP leader, is stunning.
Not really. There were 22 candidates with 17 Republicans splitting the MAGA vote. No surprise that a Democrat cornered the rest of the electorate. All the MAGA voters will now vote for the remaining Republican.
