Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene MUST GO

To elaborate just a bit.

Section 3 of the 14th amendment says

This was intended to prevent people who fought in the civil war against the United States from reentering congress, but there’s no reason why the law can’t apply generally.

So somebody sued Madison Cawthorn, alleging that he was ineligible to run because he had participated in the rebellion. But the judge threw the case out on a wacky theory - a law from the end of Reconstruction, which issued a blanket pardon to confederates (thereby undermining the original intent of the language, which was to prevent these people from retaking power in the South), somehow applied to whatever Madison has done.

The judge in Marge’s case disagreed with that ruling. He hasn’t said that she has actually engaged in a rebellion, or that this section should apply to her, but he has said that it’s a justiciable issue, so she needs to honor a subpoena and answer questions under oath: “were you engaged in the January 6th insurrection, or give aid or comfort to those who were?”

Bolding mine.

I wonder how many of the conspirators were in those one true alternative slates of Electoral College voters.

Here’s a full list of the fake electors ( and of the electors that refused to sign the fake documents and were replaced by more compliant traitors).

I did not recognize any of the names. The article also includes brief biographies, lots of grifters in the mix.

Thanks for the list.

I looked up Jake Hoffman and he’s held only state offices, not Federal, so that clause wouldn’t apply to him in any event. He looks like a real piece of work, though,

I’m keeping it in mind if he decides to run for US Representative.

So when she answers “no” to that question, and evidence is provided that shows that she sent money or supplies to convicted insurrectionists, or she gave tours or maps or direction or information to convicted insurrectionists… can she be charged with Perjury and put away for a while?

She probably won’t even show up, and offer some stalling maneuver that is totally without merit, which will be given much credence due to who she is.

“The dog ate my testimony.”

Why? It’s not like she has any committee assignments that take precedence.

“Ms Greene, are you aware of the penalty for perjury?”
“I’m pretty sure it’s less than the penalty for treason.”

The lyrics for “These Boots are Made for Walkin’” just popped into my head.

You keep lyin’ when you oughta be truthin’
And you keep losing when you oughta not bet
You keep samin’ when you oughta be a’changin’
Now what’s right is right but you ain’t been right yet

You keep playin’ where you shouldn’t be playin’
And you keep thinkin’ that you’ll never get burnt (ha)
I just found me a brand new box of matches, yeah
And what he knows you ain’t had time to learn

Here’s a link to the C-Span coverage of the testimony. Right now, it’s just her lawyer droning on over the definition of words.

Greene is now on the stand.

The plantiffs’ attorney tried to jump ahead a little bit without laying the foundation that Greene is an insurrectionist, but it seems to be going better now. 12-minute break for IT issues.

What’s everyone’s opinion so far? Preferably someone smarter than I.

I have to get a copy of Bopp’s opening statement to play when I can’t fall asleep. I knew Goone would try to make a speech. And that anecdote about her husband (god help him) voting proves trump won.

Bopp was right about one thing: Our democracy is at stake. If we’ll allow insurrectionists to run for Congress, what hope is there for our country?

I liked when old baseball cap guy applauded at the first break.

And got promptly bitched at by the judge.

They’re coming back from break.

She just said, under oath, that she never, ever espouses violence.

She just lied under oath AGAIN by saying she’s never said Pelosi is a traitor.
