Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) held an anti-trans rally at the Capitol this week. A whopping 12 or so people attended and no major media outlets covered it.
If a rally occurs at the Capitol and no major media outlet covers it, did it really happen?
I don’t know, but I’m hoping that the falling tree of uncertain ontology falls on the rally of uncertain ontology.
Is an anti-trans rally where people show up and say “Down with trans people!” Or: “I am opposed to the existence of trans people!”? That’s just fucked up. And she’s in Congress. WTF.
From what I’ve observed reluctantly dipping my toe (oh so briefly) in the cesspool that is anti-trans advocacy (as in, glancing over an anti-trans “news” site a few times), the prevailing thought is that anyone who is trans is a sexual predator hiding who they are. A trans woman is a man in disguise sneaking into women’s restrooms to rape them. Or a trans man is a woman in disguise doing something else nefarious. Oh, and they are all pedophiles grooming our children.
The scary thing is that over and over again, when that side accuses people of wrongdoings, it’s projection for what they’re doing themselves. I fear for their kids.
