Hey, it’s free advertising for billboardchris.com. I looked at his website, he’s the guy on the far right. Of the photo. He’s even wearing the exact same sign on his website as in this photo.
It’s her own sign that’s been hanging at her office since her first term in Congress. My speculation is that this was a small roadtrip-to-DC type demonstration originally arranged by whatever transphobe club “Billboard Chris” is involved with (so their signs are in his style), and they called MTG to book her as guest star. So calling it a “rally” was empty puffery to begin with.
The main point of the article is that Marjorie Taylor Greene, who has been known as an incendiary critic of Republican leadership and a far-right rabble-rouser, has undergone a slow transformation to become a slightly-less-incendiary Republican team player and is now aligning herself with party leadership in an effort to gain political relevancy. This is demonstrated by her support of House GOP leader Kevin McCarthy’s policy agenda and her backing of him as House speaker.
Turns out that the rally was actually ‘major players’ in the anti-trans movement, such as they are, and at least 5 other people attended. Or they were staffers.
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) held an anti-trans rally at the Capitol this week. A whopping 12 or so people attended and no major media outlets covered it.
The rally was a veritable who’s who of contemporary transphobic trolls, including members of the book-banning “parents’ rights” group Moms for Liberty; members of the anti-LGBTQ conservative think tank Heritage Foundation; de-transitioned young adult right-wing media darling Chloe Cole; J.K. Rowling fanboy Chris Elston; conspiracy theorist James Lindsay; sexually harassing “comedian” Alex Stein; and of course, Greene herself.
“We had witnessed 9/11, right?” said Greene in the interview. “We had witnessed 9/11. The terrorist attack in New York, and the plane that crashed in Pennsylvania, and the so-called plane that crashed into the Pentagon. It’s odd there’s never any evidence shown for a plane in the Pentagon.”
‘Never any evidence shown for a plane in the Pentagon’? To which I would reply:
