That’ll be one new keyboard, mister!
I think it would be a mistake for Democrats to expel Marjie. That makes her a persecuted victim. Instead, keep her on and make her the star of the “Republicans are crazy” show.
If she’s stripped of committees, there’s very little harm she can do. If she’s expelled, her district will just send another nutbag. She’s not an attractive young woman, so she has no real political future in the Republican party. I say allow her to stay on and play with her own feces on TV.
That smile is too big for a piece of lettuce. Someone put a piece of hamburger on a stick.
The Congressional Record still has nothing about the loon actually filing to impeach Biden.
Perhaps the Congressional Secretary (or whoever you’d submit such papers to) doesn’t accept work done using well-chewed crayons.
I’ve been listening to the House Rules Committee debating her removal from the committees she’s on (Labor and Education).
Of course Babin (TX, R) is bringing up Ihlan Omar.
Can’t believe they are going after Liz Cheney and not Greene. Cheney wasn’t the only republican to vote to impeach trump.
Modnote: To you and all others talking about Trump, this thread is not about Trump. Please drop the side issue.
This is just a guidance, not a warning. Nothing on your permanent record.
Cheney survived the vote!
She’s the most powerful one, though, and so the most threatening to them.
Hopefully she will knock a few of the others out of power.
She’s third in the House Republican leadership, and she was the first R to announce she was going to vote for impeachment. Many people said at the time that that eased the way for others to follow suit. It was a bigger “betrayal” to the Trumpists, I’m sure. Though I’m also sure they will plan their revenge for all 10.
I have to admit, Greene has me confused. Washington Post article says she was contrite in the meeting about certain things she’s spouted. But she tweets that she’ll never back down. Who’s she lying to?
Congress.gov says she has introduced it as H.Res. 57.
It sounds like she survived the vote because it was anonymous: because Trump couldn’t direct his cultists’ ire at people who voted in favor of her.
Which makes this vote a pretty interesting temperature check of how many Republicans in congress follow Trump because they genuinely believe his death-cult nonsense, and how many follow him because they’re cowards.
i do wonder who voted “present”.
Truly republicans are the enemy.
I read the article, but I still can’t tell exactly for what, or in what context, Greene (reportedly) received the ovation.
I did like this bit, though:
There were a couple of paragraphs from The Hill article:
She also denied that she knew what Jewish space lasers were and defended her comments that past school shootings were staged by stating that she had personal experience with a school shooting.
I’m not sure what her personal experience would have to do with false flag conspiracies. She should apologize to Hogg personally.
She received a standing ovation from some members of the caucus at the conclusion of her remarks.
I need to see the definition of “some” members. 5 or 10? Ok, chalk that up to idiots. Half of them? Oof.
She also denied that twenty first-graders (and six adults) were killed in Newtown, Connecticut. She should apologize to everyone.
