Bit late for the scrub isn’t it? The Internet is forever. Thousands of people have undoubtedly screenshotted her posts and saved off her videos.
I’m just sad that he’s a Cardinals fan - I thought we were better than this, lol.
Fucking good. Some small amount of sanity has replaced the lunacy of the past four years in Washington.
I can’t pop the champagne when 199 Republicans still voted to leave her committee status intact.
Some small amount of sanity. I find it celebration worthy.
That’s about as bipartisan as it gets these days.
What’s ridiculous is that she’s a freshman member of the House. She should never have been put on any committee to begin with.
Ooh, racism. Cool.
Aside:
Why does Twitter allow anyone to delete a tweet? They are the ultimate “newspaper of record” of what everyone is saying and advocating and doing. Simply switch off 100% of edit/delete. You hit [post] = it truly is forever for everyone. Have poor impulse control? Tough shit. Live by the blabbermouth, die by the blabbermouth.
All representatives, including freshmen, serve on multiple committees and subcommittees.
And, in some cases, freshmen reps are even tapped to lead subcommittees. From 2015:
Thanks, I was having a hard time finding the breakdown by party. Even the NYT doesn’t seem to have that information in their article about the vote.
Does anyone have a link to the list of those GOP House members who voted to remove her?
Here you go!
It was noted just now on MSNBC that among the 11 were three from South Florida, who had been lobbied by the families and survivors of the Parkland school shooting to vote against Greene.
Thanks! I thought I checked WaPo but must have missed this article.
Not as sane as you might think.
GOP votes to remove Greene from committees: 11
For comparison:
GOP votes to remove Liz Cheney from leadership: 61
This quote should shock most people:
Since it is truncated here is the full title:
Marjorie Taylor Greene tells lawmakers she regrets being ‘allowed to believe things that weren’t true’
I should have tried that on my professors to avoid a bad grade.
I regret MTG is “allowed to be out in public without a minder”.
The people “allowing” her to “believe things that weren’t true” are the members of her own party and their pet media. The people attempting to NOT allow her to believe those things are the Democrats she keeps complaining about.
You’re allowed to believe what you want. Why not apologize for, you know, believing things that aren’t true in the first place? That’s the part that’s your fault.
I think that’s the most blatant “I’m sorry other people did this” statement I’ve ever seen that has tried to pass itself off as an apology.
Ah, the old “It’s their fault for letting me” defense!
As a local here near Parkland …
It’s also worth noting all three are Latinx. Of the many confused things MTG believes, one of them is that Latinx people can’t be real Americans. IOW, no love lost for her among those three R reps. And their constituents may well be predominantly R, but they’re pretty thoroughly not into Latinx-hating / baiting.
She will be a GA senator soon and stay there for a long time.
