Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene MUST GO

I was about to say the same thing!

I realize that one CNN article pointing to one atypical sane interview, this morning, isn’t enough to say that her apparent mental illness is long-term resolved. But I think the possibility of redemption should be held open.

There is no mechanism to stop an adult citizen from registering, or otherwise identifying, as a Democrat. If she physically crosses the aisle in the a House of Representatives, I think she is allowed to find an empty seat, or stand.

I suppose there might be an issue with her committee assignments. She has been through that before.

It looks to me like she’s trying to found a new faction of the Republican party under her leadership. Perhaps along the lines of an Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who gained influence by setting an independent course from the party leadership. The challenge is that AOC pulled that off with considerable intelligence and diligent application. Not just anyone can follow her example.

No, just whacking.

And it is a life long Republican who wants it to boot, so take that kind of political advice with the largest grain of salt possible.

And most importantly, sincerity. That’s going to be really hard for Empty-G.

So if you smoke pot and goon, are you a weed whacker?

It’s certainly a macabre thought, but any notion of a looming (and loony) GOP primary battle between JD Vance and MT Greene, would be worth selling tickets to watch close up … but not too close.

“What have the Democrats ever done for us?”

MTG has been going hammer and tongs with Democrats for years.

She argues with Trump for a week and…

But the political violence is from the left!

A contrary consideration:

The Bulwark

MTG was first an insult-influencer when she found that to be profitable. When that became status quo for her party and she started being irrelevant and almost invisible, she started searching for her next grift. I will give her some credit – she seems to be able to read where the Republican insanity is moving next slightly before the general public figures it out. I think she knew that there would be more movement from her party towards the release of the Epstein files and that it might become a groundswell.

If you want the Democratic party to welcome her with open arms, you’ll need to bring a lot more than some opinion piece on a website that I’d describe as a cross between a slightly less self-hating version of the Log Cabin Republicans and a slightly less good at marketing version of the Lincoln Project. While I liked when Liz Cheney would battle with the MAGA takeover of her party, at the end of the day, she was still on board with the remainder of the vile Republican platform. That’s the Bulwark to me.

So, back to the OP. MTG MUST GO, but I’m more than happy to have her take Donny with her.

If I didn’t know better, I’d say you were describing Eric Cartman.

I very much doubt she wants to be a Democrat. But I also think people can change.

See:

Unless you’ve bought into her grift, I’m not sure how you could think that of her. I’ll happily step out of the way and enjoy every vote that aligns with my values, but I’m not going to sit down and have a dinner with her or even share a smile. She’s a vile, grifting liar who currently sort of agrees with me on one issue. If it becomes obvious to her that that is not the path to future power and money, she’ll have forgotten she ever said that, blame her staff for saying that, or claim it was all just fake news.

With that said, you are right, people can change. I was willing to give Sen. Byrd some benefit of the doubt in his denouncement of his earlier ways, but it did take him multiple decades to come around. I’d expect Empty-G to take longer.

Let’s start with an apology to David Hogg, denouncing Nick Fuentes, a pro gun-control vote, and a few social-justice based votes, and then we’ll start to watch her actions a bit more closely, shall we?

I think I’m also done with this line of discussion. If you think so highly of her I’m pretty sure you’re not going to be reasoned out of it, so I don’t see any point in trying.

I doubt she’ll ever be more than a rabble-rousing right-wing grifter, but as long as she does damage to her erstwhile buddies, more power to her.

That ship spurted long ago.

The Democrats might welcome her just for the extra body on their side of the aisle.
