Conservative persecution complex

Air Force brat, living on-base in Arizona. It was not a tough room. Plus, I was infected with the Galt virus. I got better.

It’s been known to lie dormant for years, only to re-emerge as the unwitting victim enters old age. Be afraid. Be very afraid.

Keep your collectivist hands off my Social Security!

If that happens, John, well…you know what you have to do.

Tattoo a dollar sign on your forehead?

Hey, at least I said forehead instead of… well, let’s not go there.

You’re right. That’s the least.

AF Reserve brat, WELL off-base.

And Galt? Okay, my first exposure was to classified ads for bumper stickers in the back of Road & Track, but I was already more interested in Bugattis I could conceivably buy if I saved my allowance. Er, until about now. Which would be far from enough, given the bronze Type 35 at speed outside the local dealer.

Summer of '76: C and D tested the brand new Honda Accord. For only 3 times the money I could buy an Avanti II. Get married or the cool car?

Neither. An Datsun 510 wagon because it could help me move. This beat a '68 Firebird 400 convertible in primer and with a bad top. A quick check of Warshawsky’s told me I’d spend half again as much on the top.

I’ve made worse mistakes, ie: The Datsun was such a misery my wife still brings it up, though a mechanic last year thought I should still have it, with a Mazda Wankel put in it. No, that Borg Warner auto couldn’t take more than 96BHP.

Grandpa Simpson enough? He makes shit up. Mine is all from a real, if crappy, life. But I never became a Randian.

It’s legal in Switzerland, you know.

Obligatory.

That’s “the other side is always hurling insults”, and then calling someone a dumbass.

Welcometogaltsgulchhaveaniceday!

Its basically required to have a persecution complex if you want to be a successful political movement. It seems to be a cross-cultural part of human nature that the underdog is always more sympathetic than the overlord. Also your troops fight their hardest if they think their backs are to the wall. You’ll fight much harder in an heroic effort against unbelievable odds to defeat the liberal menace that is just an election away from forcing your sons and daughters to be gay, then you will to carry on an easy saunter towards maintaining your position as head of the status quo.

Is it at all relevant to point out that the difference might - just might - be due to the fact that after some ten years of political rhetoric, a large fraction of the mindless media consumers are defaulting to “terrorist = Muslim”?

ahem

It’s DtD4AuH[sub]2[sub]O, not DtD4AuH[sup]2[sup]0

What’s [sup], homey?

OMFG, the Fort Hood shooter was a muslim? The media has tried so hard to hide this fact from me that I am only just now finding out.

Come on, we suspected he was a muslim extremist the second they mentioned his name.

Religion is a powerful language and anyone that thinks they are doing something for GOD can walk deep into ends justifies the means territory without realizing how far off they’ve gone.
