Something tells me Cheney could actually take it. But at the same time he’s rational enough to know that they wouldn’t do it if it wasn’t unpleasant.
I dunno, waterboarding activates a deep-seated drowning panic in the reptilian brain. Cheney is almost completely reptile… who knows what would happen.
Cheney couldn’t last 1 second with that ticker of his.
Man this is making me want to try it because I want to see if I can last longer than the 15 seconds other people last.

Nah. I’ll pass. It’d be an instant death sentence for him. His heart would probably give out after two seconds and then we’d have to deal with cries of murder from Republicans and, unfortunately, they’d be right.
I have to give Mancow his props… He actually went through with it, and spoke the truth about it afterwards. That has to count for something.
The thing is, it doesn’t look that bad even watching it. I’m sure it’s awful because everyone who experiences says it is, but it just doesn’t look or sound that bad. I can understand why someone would be doubtful.
I’d like to see Cheney waterboarded until he threw in the towel, so to speak, and then for an additional fifteen seconds. Three times running.
Yeah. But the only way the terms of the debate will change is if every conservative talk show host in the country gets waterboarded, and-

Off to IMHO.
I saw footage somewhere online recently (or maybe it was on Olbermann’s show) of someone being waterboarded and it actually looked terrible. I think it was done on a military “volunteer”. If I recall correctly, his head was being held down and water was practically being forced into him. The waterboarding Mancow went endured, though I’m sure horrible, was not the same treatment as in the clip I saw previously.
I’m sure someone here knows the clip I’m talking about and can Google it up for us. I’m not finding it.
That didn’t look that bad. I mean - I’m not saying waterboarding isn’t torture, it is … but when Scylla described the saran wrap method it sounded way worse. It seems like Mancow could’ve simply held his breath and closed his throat and endured it until he he had to breathe… the saran wrap method seems so much worse because you gradually become overcome and it just completely seals you off.
I was also under the impression that the victim was supposed to have their head tilted downwards so that the water couldn’t be sucked up into the lungs. They elevated his legs… but what good would that do? Watching it a second time it does look like he was on a slight incline… I’d always pictured it as steeper.
Edit: rewatching the video, the torturer says “we’re going to do it in 5… 5…4…” and then he does it. I guess that’s precisely to prevent people from closing their throats.
I believe Christopher Hitchens mentioned in his article that the people conducting his waterboarding would press on his solar plexus to prevent him from timing his breaths to the water.
To say nothing of the fact that Hitchens and Muller underwent the procedure in safe conditions, knowing they could stop it at any time.
Despite that, Muller seemed pretty rattled. His face is white as a sheet afterward.
The amount of ammo this is going to give KO to attack Hannity should make for a couple interesting new Countdowns.
That ticking is merely an illusion. Cheney is actually Undead and he can breathe water like that little rat in The Abyss. So, clearly waterboarding him would merely be entertainment for the masses who will pay money to imagine what it would be like to torture the bastard.
Fine, then. Just have Cheney’s friend waterboard him. You know, the guy Dick shot in the face? Fair’s fair after all.

It’s been a long time since I listened to Mancow, but since when is he a conservative? I’ve always thought he was just an absolute shock jock. Say anything and everything to get a reaction. More like Howard Stern than Rush Limbaugh. Did I miss something?
Hell, I’d pay money for a darroguette of Cheney being waterboarded.
