Consider Refund if no improvement in speed

I have been here a long time. Even with this upgrade 70% of the time, this board stalls out. Why pay ANY AMOUNT of money for a message board that is that slow?

You should offer the option of a prorated refund if the speed doesn’t improve. This was once fun but why pay for something that more often than not you can’t access. I’ve tried this with DSL, Dial Up and Wireless.

It is slow regardless

I checked my bank account today. To subscribe it cost me £2.75. It’s nothing! I spend more then that when I’m in Burger King! Asking for a refund would be pretty pointless.

Yes, they should refund every bit of the money you haven’t paid.

I’ve already seen some improvement, after the credit card binge ended, and I expect that if the board actually provides money to the Reader, we will see some hardware/infrastructure improvements at a later date.

My $4.95 was money well spent.

I’ve never known the board so responsive. Time was I almost gave up on it, as I could rarely get in (about 6 months ago).

Not that I’d want a refund anyway. (I’d consider it money well spent for the pleasure that this board has given me over the last coupla years.)

It seems a little faster to me.

I’m hoping that the restrictions on searching will speed it up some. I’ve often wondered if troublemakers run long searches just to suck up some CPU time.

We’ll see in about a month, I suppose.

For me the boards have run smoothly ever since the first day of charging. I can’t believe how ungreatful people are being. For such a tiny amount of subscription fee they are expecting SUDDEN improvements in speed!?

See, here’s the problem from the SDMB’s viewpoint: some folks will say that the board stalls out 70% of the time.

Then other times, folks (like me) will report that we have very few problems with using the SDMB. I’ve seen some stall-outs, but they would occur on well less than 1% of page views (except for during long-term outages, of course), I estimate.

So what does that suggest? Is it a SDMB problem, or might there be problems elsewhere? I honestly don’t know why the board’s level of reliability is different for different people.

It was my impression from **Ed’s ** subscription announcement thread that any speed improvement would come from people dropping out and the lack of search facility for guests rather than any hardware improvement.
