As nice as Xbox and Gamecube are, they are fighting an uphill battle witht he PS2. Last time I checked, Sony had a 90% market share in consoles, and a 95% market share in software. That means the other two guys have to fight over that little sliver of the pie. Its almost a friggin video game monopoly. Same thing with Nintendo’s GBA in the handheld market.
Maybe its me, but the 16-bit console era seemed much less lopsided and more competitive. As a consumer, I enjoy a much more even playing field, especially since it encourages innovation and better quality games.
True that is, as Morrowind is expected to be released for Xbox around mid May. I’m getting my for pc within a week, though
I’d say Xbox will be the best modern RPG console, primarily because of Morrowind and that Star Wars RPG, Knights of the Old Republic I think it’s called.
I’m going for console only because I don’t think my PC will be able to handle Morrowind for a while (I gots me a couple upgrades to do before then). But chances are I’ll end up getting it on both systems… I’m just that way.
