I’d say this rises to the epic level of douchebaggery.
I just read the same story. I wanted to find out more, but couldn’t quite bring myself to do a web search. I think I may be afraid to read what real live people actually believe out there. From the story:
Why? Well, if this was a false flag event designed to move political opinion on gun control, here in America…
Hold on… Are there really nutbags who believe the shooting was a hoax?
That’s some high-level crazy there.
I’m a little ashamed to be posting it here, but this was posted on another forum a few days ago:
Warning, douchebag content.
steronz, I don’t have sound at work, and can’t be arsed to sit trhough 30+ minutes of teh krazy. Can you (or someone) give a Rdr’s Dgst version of what the nutters are claiming?
Oh sure, that started right after the shooting. One of the first “theories” I heard was that it was a plot by the Israelis to punish Obama for being insufficiently pro-Israel.
I’m curious about whether they think it was a total hoax, like no kids were actually shot, or if the shooter was recruited by the conspirators to really shoot.
Yikes.
I Googled it, and found that some people think it was staged by the Obama admin to drum up support for gun control.
I saw this story just now–it’s the first I’ve heard that anyone thinks Sandy Hook was some kind of fraud. I could believe that one or two people believe it–Rule 34 and all that–but this sounds like it’s become a real movement.
Astonishing.
So that theory says “no children were harmed in the creation of this hoax”?
people make me sad
Why so down, he’s Just Asking Questions.
If people won’t believe in evolution, not just because of religious beliefs but because we should question everything, why would people believe one news event?
In the interest of taking one for the team, here’s a summary of the first 20 minutes. I got bored after that
Initial reports were that there were 2 or 3 gunmen.
A person was arrested in the woods nearby, but once apprehended wasn’t treated as a suspect.
The initial reports were that 2 handguns and a rifle were found, then 4 handguns, plus a shotgun, the rifle was found in the truck and yet it was the primary weapon, etc. Essentially, initial confusion over the weapons used is evidence of conspiracy…
Sickeningly, the effectiveness of the shooting is cited (26 dead and only 1 wounded) as evidence of a conspiracy. “Wouldn’t frantic kids be a difficult target to hit?” <- fuck I can’t believe I just typed that.
Initial information about Nancy Lanza’s employment was inconsistent.
Someone who was quoted as having worked in school administration didn’t show up in the school directory or something (the implication there being that she was a paid actor).
One of the greiving fathers didn’t look sad enough at a press conference (therefore he was a paid actor).
Said father showed up in town records (?) as being 57 years old but they didn’t have the sense to hire an age appropriate actor. They even imply that his kids were fake. Or something, I didn’t quite get that.
The guy who harbored the 6 kids is a member of the SAG, his story makes no sense, he says the kids were students of some teacher who’s class was supposedly wiped out. Basically they say that he didn’t ask enough questions before letting the kids in his house, and he didn’t call 911, and clearly he’s an actor.
Other greiving parents they interview don’t look sad enough.
There weren’t enough ambulances or fire trucks, or scared children running around in the news footage (so it was clearly all filmed on a movie set, and the producers couldn’t find extras or rent ambulances).
Thank you.
I think I need to take a shower now.
That was a remarkably generous and selfless act. Thanks.
And regarding the content of the summary, that’s just really, really sad.
Maybe I’m an eternal optimist, but I just can’t believe anyone thinks this.
I sincerely hope that it’s just a bunch of 4ch-an trolls that are trying to stir up trouble and that no one actually believes there is some sort of conspiracy.
Never underestimate Teh Crazy!
You’d think after all the goofs Bush let slide into the 9/11 performance Obama would have made sure everyone knew their lines and their cues.
I haven’t watched the video and don’t think I have the stomach for it, but I did force myself to read the user comments on this page-- if they’re a reasonable representative sample, there seem to be multiple variations on the theory. All apparently in agreement that Obama’s government is driving this and other “false flag” operations in order to push gun control.
I’ve made my peace with Yahoo! Answers, IMDb discussion forums and YouTube comments sections— the unholy trinity of societal entropy— but this shit is becoming more than I can bear.
