He doesn’t believe it was a hoax as in it didn’'t happen. He believes the shooter was a government agent as was the Aurora shooting. A False flag so Obama can take away people’s guns.

My family has one of these, too. I’ve been regaled with a story of Lanza being mind-controlled via some sort of covert technology to carry out his heinous crime. Not clear on the reason behind it, but hell, is one necessary?

It kills me that an actual blood relative believes this stuff. It gives me an insight into that line between genius and madness–this guy is indeed smarter than most, but I’m certain that somewhere in his future lies a tipping point beyond which he’ll need serious help.

I avoided watching the interviews so I don’t have firsthand knowledge, but I know what Nzinga is talking about. To some extent I think it’s the eye of the media that provokes that kind of theatrics-- hard to say. There’s almost nobody alive (at least in the United States) who isn’t totally “camera-aware” by now, particularly younger people. People assume there’s an expectation of displaying public grief, and some people are just naturally hammier than others.

Right. And I think people have watched enough 24-hour news to have internalized what you are ‘supposed’ to say when you’re being interviewed on camera after something tragic happens. That might lend itself to formulaic grieving. But this shit is still insane, and I don’t think this is what makes it happen. Conspiracy theories are about being at the center of the world.

Sandy Hook Hero Cruelly Harassed By Conspiracy Theorists

His all too apparent anguish in the accompanying photo is heartbreaking.

A good Samaritan who harbored six terrified survivors of the Sandy Hook massacre has been singled out by conspiracy theorists accusing him of being a liar and an actor.

On the morning of the shooting, Gene Rosen of Newtown, Conn., was feeding his cats when he discovered four terrified children hiding out in his driveway. They told him their teacher was dead, and he listened to their chilling account of the tragedy still going on at the nearby Sandy Hook Elementary School.

In the aftermath, Rosen, 69, was interviewed by many of the media outlets that descended on the small community, and his anguished face flashed across television screens around the world.

The sincerity of that anguish was questioned by a group of conspiracy theorists who call themselves “truthers,” Salon reported earlier this month. These truthers have so far posted Rosen’s personal information online, created fake social media accounts using his name and harassed him via email and phone.

As to a father not appearing “sad enough”, it was the strength of some of those parents in their darkest hour that I found most inspirational. That stood to draw a tear just as forcefully as anything else witnessed in this tragedy.

This. If my son had been one of the victims in a shooting like this, I’d have been catatonic for weeks afterward. But some parents surely have more strength and courage than I do. They’re an example to us all.

Sorry - missed it.

There are at least 4 or 5 YouTube vids each one claiming he “changed his story” and calling him a pedo. I watched two interviews from two news services and while his story does vary in minor details between the two, the essential facts don’t change.

I believe a police interrogator would be suspicious if he had stuck to the exact same word for word story. At least that what cop TV shows say.

I’m not sure what the political analog is. Just as there is extant porn for every conceivable scenario, I am convinced that there are believers in every conceivable conspiracy theory–or deviant political configuration. In other words, I don’t think Rule 34 is just for porn anymore.
