Can anyone tell me why when I go under an overpass that is being restored/rebuilt there is a steady stream of water that splatters down on my car? This phenomenon seems to be true day or night, rain or shine. I live in notheast Ohio if it’s just a local thing.
I would guess that the water is being used to keep new concrete cool and keep it from setting up too fast. Concrete produces an enormous amount of heat as it cures and if it cures too quickly, will not pass quality tests.
It has a lot of interesting information about the Central Artery project in Boston. Essentially, they are building a bridge, a major highway and some connecting roads and tunnels all over the city. All this is being done without disrupting the city too much.
