[Soapbox}I’m thinking this thread is getting a little off topic if we’re solely talking about one poster’s credentials. It’s kind of disgusting in my opinion. I may disagree with what he says and claims but I’m not going to analyze someone’s whole history just to discredit him to make a point that is somewhat irrelevant.[\soapbox]
on a brighter note, this is the longest thread that shows up in GD history, (Unless you count Esprix multi-chaptered “Ask the Gay Guy” threads as one. Then we’re 251 posts shy of topping him and from what I’ve read, he doesn’t want to be topped).
A distinction is sometimes made between “cold readers” and “shut-eyes,” with “cold readers” being people who consciously and deliberately collect information from the client’s appearance and from feedback, and “shut-eyes” being people who do their thing unconsciously and often believe that what they’re doing is accomplished through occult means.
I almost forgot. Rupert Sheldrake was on one of the local news shows this morning pimping his book and “testing” the anchor for psychic ability, based on whether or not he could tell if somebody was looking at him from behind. I had to leave for work before the test started, so maybe somebody else out there from the Chicago area, or elsewhere where the WGN morning news is shown saw how it turned out.
My prediction: The anchor did at best 50% and Sheldrake told him that was a good indicator that he had psychic ability that he could develop.
Except Lekatt had to open his mouth a little further and say that it SNOWED in New Orleans a week later! Snow in May in NO was bad enough. but this requires us to believe that it SNOWED IN NEW ORLEANS IN JULY!!
I call BS.
The only other hurricane recorded in the 1950’s is this one:
StPauler, maybe we’ve gone off course here, but Lekatt’s dishonesty, or at least credulous inaccuracy and poor memory simply help to cast even more doubt on his other claims than was already there.
Anyone following these posts know that the probe into my personal life is for the purpose of character assassination. When the lawyer can’t prove his case he uses character assassination to discredit the witness. It is an old trick, most everyone understands it. I will say again, I am not trying to change anyone’s beliefs. But the truth will be known whether I say it or someone else. No one can stop it, so it is best to seek it in the first place.
We are spiritual beings, there is higher intelligence, and we do live beyond the physical body. These things we have evidence for.
Lekatt may I remind you that you claimed to have psychic powers. You have put no real evidence on the table, so all we have to go with is your word. Therefore your credibility is an issue.
You claimed to have a NDE as well, if you defend you NDE, then your credibility is still an issue.
These questions and analysis are not a “probe” of your personal life since you offered these excerpts from your personal life as evidence and allegory.
We are exploring the validity of personal experience and testimony as proof.
Lekatt is rapidly approaching the perfect, heretofore theoretically unattainable value of 1 lekatt on the obduracy scale. I feel privileged to witness such an event.
Then you refuse to give the additional information we’ve asked for, relying instead on attacks on those who are trying to get to the truth. Attacking, by, of course, accusing us of attack. Well and poorly done.
