I’ve got all 3 major game systems and a bunch of controllers, cables, accessories for each. My TV is not on a stand that has cabinets so I have sll the shit sitting on a shelf and it looks abysmal. What is a neat way to store all these fuckin controllers so the kids don’t make a huge mess when they dig one out but at the same time they are hidden when not inuse?
I have mine in a small 12"x8" basket. 2 360 controllers, 2 PS3s, and some Wii accessories. Seems to work well. There’s a spare remote or two in there as well.
Buy a real computer*. If necesary you can buy wireless peripherals for it.
But if you insist on owning a console, the last console I owned (Megadrive with a 32x on top) I’d unplug the controllers and wrap their wires around themselves.
[sub]*A Macintosh isn’t a real computer. It is a fisherprice toy for grown-ups[/sub]
Seconding the basket - this is the solution my mother uses as well, especially since these days us kids don’t use most of those consoles very much any more.
I have a (cheap) treasure chest I put my stuff in, it’s not only functional like a basket, but it also looks cool.
wow, really? Choosing a thread on consoles to express fanboyish opinions about unrelated systems? c’mon… Not to mention the consoles all have wireless controllers these days.
I like the basket idea. I personally put my systems on top of my wii box, which leaves a bit of room in front of them for a controller or two, and some other stuff stored within the box.
That post was especially umm special. He threw unasked for volleys in both the PC vs. Console and Mac vs. PC wars.
Personally, I think the PS3 is a neat looking machine. (I know that isn’t a widespread opinion.) But, the controller wires jutting out don’t add much to the picture. I keep it connected and don’t worry about the ambiance. But, I have seen racks that you put the controllers on and it acts as both storage and a charger. Less wires makes it neat. It would be really cool if they had a crossplatform version of this rack. All hanging there and getting charged. But, I am sure that would be marketable to a limited number of people.
