Controversial encounters between law-enforcement and civilians - the omnibus thread

Must be subliminal: should be friends.

We don’t know what the BK video might show because it’s gone. We have an exceedingly brief moment of dashcam footage - we do NOT have 86 minutes of fixed camera footage that might show a much more complete picture of that night.

So Smapti, what’s your take on this?

Yeah, but that’s the only place it ever happened.

Smapti’s take: outlier. As noted above.

Lack of sound in police videos raises more questions about officer conduct, possible cover-up

5 cars that by policy should have been recording audio weren’t.

Smapti, “Just coincidence. Nothing suspicious at all.”

Or “I believe the police chief’s denials. Prove he’s lying.”

Dude, the past made now.

I think it’s very possible Smapti is forced to defend law enforcement and authority in general, in all but the most extreme cases (and even some of those), because his psyche literally cannot handle the possibility of living in a world in which police and authority were not mostly trustworthy and forces for good. It’s sad. For him, I think it may be ‘defend the police always or suffer a major breakdown’.

In Chicago the Fraternal Order Of Police Union really, really, really wants police misconduct records older than 5 years to be destroyed lest someone sees them.

JesusFreakingChrist that is sickening.

A dozen officers, a police chief, the Internal Affairs department, the District Fucking Attorney and the Asst. Director of Homeland Fucking Security for the State of Alabama, all engaged in a criminal conspiracy to wrongfully imprison hundreds of black men over a decade.

I would really like it if this were proved to be a BS piece. I would feel better about humanity as a whole.

You think that situation is unique?

Unfortunately, it may prove so.

IN other news, the union has added further demands dealing specifically with pancakes and blowjobs. Stay tuned as this story develops.

It’s “unfortunate” that the police department wasn’t taken over by white supremacists?

Don’t be stupid. It is unfortunate when people lie about important things.

But not cops, because they would never lie–especially about a controversial situation, right?

Justice Department will investigate practices of Chicago police

Law enforcement officers investigating law enforcement officers.

Poor Smapti. His head may explode.

This is just another politically-motivated witch hunt designed to pander to the mob. Not really any different than when Republicans create these kind of fauxtroversies around Hillary Clinton and Planned Parenthood.

Investigating a department known for civil rights abuses and running it’s own Black Site is a “Witch Hunt”?

Ok, that’s officially the stupidest thing you’ve ever said, and that’s a high mark to hit.
