Not just 5 of them. Read the story and actually* think *about it: one cop showed up and gunned down a couple of innocent men, and then the very next 4 officers on the scene helped him cover it up. What percentage of the force there must be corrupt if you could pick 4 cops from it at random and have them cover up a crime for you?
Again peope fail to consider the simple who, what, where and why of circumstances involved and revert to simple, disassociated “facts” (as opposed to numbers in your case). Did your employer ever characterize your job as having a target painted on your back? Did your job ever involve actively looking for the most dangerous possible situations and directly exploiting them? Did your job qualification require advanced skiledl, or just any dumbass that was stupid enough to get himself killed could apply?
I could go on, but that would be enough to get started with you.
I go along with pretty much all of Smapti’s post 7770
I’d prefer to do without your endorsement, thank you. While you and I may agree on certain matters, you don’t seem to be approaching this from a logical, fact-based perspective.
I think you’re both fucking crazy. He’s the only person I’ve ever seen agree with you; you should take what you can get, and if you don’t like it think about how other people see you.
Stupid facts.
Like spelling?
Reconsider.
I have never considered “how other people see me” to be a factor of any merit in regards to the validity of my observations about the truth of the world we live in, and I am unwilling to align myself with someone who speaks falsehoods simply because those lies are politically convenient to the furtherance of the truths I have observed.
There’s a saying in Russia: “If three people tell you you’re drunk, go lie down.”
This thread has almost 8,000 posts of people telling you you’re drunk. Maybe they’re all wrong. Probably not.
Well, there is doorhinge. Smapti’s in great company.
Yeah, if** Smapt**i–who outside this topic seems like a normal guy–is telling you to get lost, maybe you need to look in the mirror.
Would you agree that the police should not be at liberty to seize cash from just anyone merely on the basis that carrying that much cash represents suspicion of mischief, and then force the person from whom it was seized to prove their right to keep the cash? Because that appears to be what has been happening.

Again peope fail to consider the simple who, what, where and why of circumstances involved and revert to simple, disassociated “facts” (as opposed to numbers in your case).
I can get tell you hat facts are not something you concern yourself with in general.
Did your employer ever characterize your job as having a target painted on your back?
No, but he would tell me, in detail, why “Ted Berg” was written on half the tools in the shop, and why Ted didn’t couldn’t use any tool that required three or more fingers to operate anymore.
Did your job ever involve actively looking for the most dangerous possible situations and directly exploiting them?
“Exploit?” Pretty sure cops aren’t supposed to “exploit” the situations they’re in. In fact, that’s kind of one of the things we’re criticizing them for. Did you mean some other, presumably shorter, word than exploit? That’s alright, take your time thinking about it. We’ll still be here when you figure out what you’re talking about.
Did your job qualification require advanced skiledl, or just any dumbass that was stupid enough to get himself killed could apply?
Well, I don’t like to brag, but I could take a piece of raw steel stock and machine it to within a tolerance of about +/- .005 inches, or about twice the width of a human hair.
I could go on, but that would be enough to get started with you.
I can’t help but notice that, rather than “get started” with me, you’ve completely failed to address anything I actually said. Instead, you brought up fear mongering by police leadership (which is the thing I’m complaining about), an apparent admission of police corruption (but that’s probably a function of you not having “advanced skiledl” in coherent speech) and implied that my job did not require any talent or training, which aside from being wrong, is entirely irrelevant to my point.
Also, you sidestepped the issue of you being blatantly wrong when you said cops were poorly paid, when, in fact, they make a pretty good living. Want to go back and address that, or would you prefer that we just sort of ignore it when you blatantly make shit up?
Missisipi Councilman suggests that rocks, bricks and bottles are thrown at police, who chase criminals.
Yeah, that’s probably a bad idea.
Speaking of bad ideas–reading Youtube comments, e.g.:
Niggers should be rounded up and shipped back to Africa in droves where they may die of AIDS and EBOLA while witch doctors dance around them in elephant shit hits. The only times in history when a nigger has ever accomplished anything whatsoever is when a white man handed it to them. Stokes proves that there isn’t one single black run community on planet earth that isn’t a shithole of crime, poverty, drugs, murder, rape, and misery. Let’s hope that this fat nigger’s diabetes takes him out real soon.
and of course:
What a stupid ass piece of shit nigger, the police do NOT stop chasing or following a suspook just because it went into another town! And if the suspook wasn’t breaking the law, the cops would not have to chase it in the first place!
GOD DAMN FUCKING NIGGERS!
That’s just two of 9 comments, all of which look something like that. So I think we can guess what kind of circles that video is circulating in.
Which raises the question: where did you get this link, my mysterious friend, who joined this site in January 2016?
Look I understand you guys are a little upset for me putting this issue in the proper context. But c’mon - this is the pit, right? You can do better than that!!

No, it’s probably because you’re not addressing any actual arguments. When you just dismiss legitimate concerns, people aren’t going to respond favorably. It’s reasonable to both support cops and criticize unfair treatment by some cops, especially when one has knowledge of the history of law enforcement in America.
Authorities have identified an attempted murder suspect who was fatally shot by Las Vegas police after they mistook his cellphone for a gun.
It’s time for Congress to pass laws banning cell phone manufacturers from making cell phones which look like guns!
OK then, I’ll let you get back to your cop-bashing, hallucinatory liberal reveling. Sorry, I didn’t take the bait. I’m sure Miler will be keeping a close eye on me.

I’m sure it’s fun pretending all your opponents are idiots living in a fantasy world. It’s hard when one’s opponents might actually be real thinking people who see things differently than you do. If you want to engage with real ideas instead of fantasy world ones, please let us know.
Well, and apart from his hard-on for LEOs, Smapti is basically a “liberal”.
In that vein, I have great disdain for most of the police officers I’ve ever encountered. The last words I said to one was “fuck you very much,” spoken in a re-assuring tone with a smile on my face to avoid unnecessary unpleasantness. My police encounters over the years typically involved receiving a speeding ticket I felt I did not deserve under the circumstances. Of course the devil is in the details - details regarding LEO encounter episodes that are virtually wholly ignored in this thread.
