The officer who arrested Sandra Bland has officially been fired, but he may still have a chance to appeal his dismissal to the DPS oversight board. The outcome of his criminal trial could affect the viability of an appeal, though.
Lancaster police sergeant charged with perjury, simple assault
Don’t you know there’s a subset of police officers (and Smapti) who absolutely despise video cameras?
Just wanted to share this link I found on the page when reading your link:
And scarves. The officer pulled scarf after scarf from the woman’s vagina.
That was NOT a scarf. It was an endless ammo bandoleer for the gun.
Michelle Duggar could cache an arsenal.
That sort of thing could lead to a pretty serious vaginal discharge. Just sayin’.
Winner.
There’s a ‘quick draw’ joke in there somewhere…
The principle is that there is no justice.
Update in the Freddie Gray case:
New Ruling: Ofc. Porter Must Testify Against 5 Officers In Gray Case
I wonder how many times Officer Porter will say “I can’t recall.” in response to prosecutor questions.
At least he got compensation. That guy who was released after 30 years on death row, who died of lung cancer a year later, received $20 for a bus ride. Judges ruled that he was not adequately innocent enough to receive compensation. It is not clear whether he was actually convicted of those other things.
While this is no where near as appalling as previous posts in this thread, I found it to be …puzzling. A black protester is being escorted out of a Trump rally by the police, and gets sucker punched. The police tackle the victim down and handcuff him. The guy who threw the punch is later arrested.
The police were right there when the man got punched. Why the handcuffs and wrestling down of the victim? Why not arrest the puncher immediately?
To keep him from immediately retaliating? If they first go after the puncher then the protester may have had a chance to run.
The protester was not being arrested. If he wants to run, let him. Instead of handcuffing the victim, maybe one of the several cops could have arrested the guy that had actually committed a crime while they were right there, instead of waiting until the next day to arrest him?
Oh no, a protester might have taken it on the lam. Better treat him like more of a criminal than the guy who punched him in the face. Can’t have protesters out there protesting and shit.
According to a sergeant from the Sheriff’s Office:
They missed the assault on the guy they were escorting out of the building? Yeah, that’s a good one.
The Sheriff himself, at least, seems to be taking the whole thing seriously:
The police have also apparently started an internal investigation into the handling of the incident by the deputies. If i were the victim, i’d be starting a civil suit against the assailant as well.
LOL. I have probably seen posts that manage to cram more stupid analysis into fewer words than this, but i can’t think of one right now.
The black protester was assaulted by police because his face attacked a white Trump supporter.
Sean Groubert, the SC cop who shot an unarmed black motorist after he reached into his car to follow instructions to provide ID, plead guilty in his trial.
