And what that struggle consisted of. If Scott simply slapped the taser out of the cops hand, well that is resisting arrest, sure, but not enough of a struggle to even come close to justifying lethal force.
Mounties don’t have exactly the same rep that US cops do at the moment, so it may not be as important.
But, having body cams that don’t hold up to the rigors that would be asked of them, whether through durability or battery can be even worse, as if something happens and the body cam happened to not be working at the time, then people will become suspicious, just as I throw a have some reservations whenever I hear that a cop’s body cam was not turned on, or was malfunctioning during the encounter.
Yes, they should get body cams, all law enforcement should have them in the end, but if the tech is not up to it yet, they may not actually do any good.
There will be a simple solution for this. Congers will pass a law making it a 5-to-20 federal crime to share or allow or facilitate the sharing of images, recordings or videos of police activities without express permission of the police. This will put the squeeze on YT, FB, et al, to remove anything that be in violation, preventing these things from going viral. The justification will be that policework is crucial to the security of the country and deserves the same level of classification as military and intel activities.
So did Scott try to grab it, did the officer drop it, what happened? Was the struggle about getting the taser or was the taser dropped in a struggle that wasnt about Scott trying to gain control of it?
Do we have any evidence beyond what the officer says?
Well, there is the dashcam video. It shows Mr. Scott get out of his car and take off running. The officer never appears in the video. Put the two together and there is no indication that Scott ever made any physical contact with any constable. The available video evidence suggests that the “struggle” is entirely fabricated.
Could be he just Barney Fife’d it and fumbled the taser as he was chasing the victim and decided he ought to shoot the victim so he can go back and get the taser, which he dropped again when he came back to check on the victim he just shot (oops, butterfingers).
Among those listed as victims of racially-motivated shootings is Abdul Razak Ali Artan, a Somali refugee admitted to the country along with his mother and six siblings and whose college education was being paid for by U.S. taxpayers.
But he was pissed about something, something America and started ramming students with his car and began stabbing others. But…but…he was non-white, and therefore unjustly shot according to these people.
I’d be willing to bet that any number of these college-level students graduated high-school and entered college saying things like “Me and her saw you at the game Saturday” and would be hard pressed to figure out whether ‘they’re’, ‘their’ or ‘there’ should be used to indicate possession, but they’ve clearly attained a magna cum laude level education already in political correctness, SJWism and unthinking liberal group think.
Maybe under Trump, schools will get back to teaching subjects instead of liberal indoctrination.
I honestly don’t understand how people can see all these examples and still think it’s “just a few bad apples.” There’s an obvious problem with the system.
I thought it was “a few bad apples aren’t really that bad. They’re probably under a lot of stress and they thought their lives were in danger so how can you second guess them why do you hate America?”
