In this thread we have Crazy Canuck and Budget Player Cadet calling someone else a retard? :dubious:
No worries, we’re cool. I understand the urge to protect yourself from dangerous people and keep yourself and your loved ones safe. I’ve just dealt with more than my fair share of psychos in my cocaine dealing years, and I had to learn the hard way that the only way to win with psychopaths is to not play the game. Just stay out of their way, and if that’s not possible, aim to create win/win situations. Believe me when I say that you can’t hurt them like they can hurt you.
You’re starting to remind me of a yappy little dog with more bark than brains. Either grow some balls and pit me if you have a problem or fuck right off.
I guess she doesn’t know what lynching means.
That’s more like it! Blatantly racist cop, threats of lynching, violently assaulting a totally innocent civilian, caught on video - all the good stuff!
Attica! Attica! Structural racism! Fight the power!

Shodan
I’m not sure what the issue is. The guy clearly had a gun. She felt threatened, as she should. Just like the cop the other day felt threatened because the running suspect had a gun. And other cops have felt threatened by phones and such that they simply THOUGHT were guns. This woman clearly saw a gun and she felt threatened.
What’s the problem again?
I think she was pissed that he gave her a ticket, and not a warning. The cop was professional and polite and wasn’t worked up at all. He did get just a bit short with her when she didn’t want to sign the ticket, but even then I don’t think he lost his temper. He could have been a little more patient when explaining that signing the ticket doesn’t admit guilt, but he never seemed threatening to her.
I think she just wanted her 2 minutes of notoriety, and thought playing the race card was her best play. “Lynching”, “Freddie Gray”, etc.
So, here’s an instance where the controversy is due to the citizen, not the cop.
Congratulations, you’ve proved that police abuse is just a made up thing.
It would seem to me that after an incident like this, all cops would want to wear their body cameras, and make sure that they are on all the time, so that they can have an objective witness to what transpired. I’ve not watched the video, but assuming the article is accurate, it seems she had a different impression of the encounter.
Actually, it turn out that she had a sliver of public attention before (though I don’t remember having heard of her even though I live within a stone’s throw (by Superman) from Greenville.) See: three Google News hits from before this.
I’m not always right, but when I am, I’m a total douche about it.

Well played, Darren Garrison. Shodan surely fell for that one
Too bad Steophan was out.
The barrel has no bottom. It always gets worse. I mean, I can’t recall ever thinking particularly highly of you, but I’d hope we could still both join hands in pointing out that Clothahump or Steophan is about as smart as a particularly stupid box of rocks, or perhaps the average citizen of Bikini Bottom.
You don’t get it. Just because the video shows the cop being completely professional doesn’t prove anything - he probably pulled her out of the car, beat the crap out of her, and then turned the camera on.
Black Lies Matter!

I agree. I agree. I agree. I agree.
I certainly wouldn’t have made any such claim myself, but if you are so instiatant about it, then you must know something. I suggest you contact the PD and let them know.
That makes you either an extremely poor speller, or a raging racist. Did you have a preference in how people perceive your words?
Do me a favor, please make your point clear. Like, what, exactly, is the message you’d like us to take away from this? Please be explicit, I’m really bad at subtext.
That’s appalling.
Also, it looks to me like police officer two (the one walking down the street) needs some serious consideration of her attitude to her job too, because she seems conpletely unconcerned that her partner just knocked a kid into the gutter
Didn’t **Shodan **used to be a better poster? Now he just seems angry and racist and inarticulate.
Pedestrian killed during police chase
This is something I (and others) been complaining about for over 40 yrs and yet it still happens.
And yes, I know that it’s the fleeing suspects that are the ones who (usually) do the killing, but the police dont have to chase. And there has been plenty of data for a long time that these are disproportionately dangerous situations and many LE jurisdictions have changed their policies, but none, that I know of, have banned high speed pursuits.
It’s time.
