Controversial encounters between law-enforcement and civilians - the omnibus thread

Dear Mr. Dog-

Thank you for your email. Unfortunately, that people are afraid because they are hysterical nutbags flagellating themselves with cherry-picked statistics and self-deception is something we already knew.

This meshes quite well with your other posts about black people. Would you characterize those ~50% of black people who report that they personally have been mistreated by law enforcement as the n-word, in addition to being “hysterical nutbags flagellating themselves…”?

Why would he be talking about people who carry guns in public?

He wouldn’t be. He would be talking more about people who are afraid of the police because they are hysterical nutbags.

He even cited it.

Regards,
Shodan

Huh, that’s weird. Because what you described is exactly the type of people who carry guns in public. “people [who] are afraid because they are hysterical nutbags flagellating themselves with cherry-picked statistics and self-deception”

So this controversial encounter happened in 2017 but video from the cop car cam is just now being released. Dash cam video shows trooper aggressively arresting motorcyclist in Cedar County | KGAN

Iowa State Patrol trooper chases down speeding biker and just lays into him right off the bat. Trooper is now employed by the city of Durant, Iowa.

Why has this come to light? A local county Sheriff is refusing to book “criminals” if they have been arrested in the city of Durant, Iowa. Why? Because of “this is just one example of his concerns about police judgement by smith and the Durant Police Department.” Smith being the former Iowa State Patrol trooper in the above linked video/article. Smith is married to “Dawn Smith, chairwoman of the Cedar County Board of Supervisors”. In rural Iowa feud, sheriff won't honor small town's arrests | KGAN

“Using what some call excessive force “. Some?

Florida cop is arrested after he planted methamphetamine on random drivers after traffic stops. 120 defendants had their charges thrown out.

Wouldn’t a civil suit be pretty much a gimme here? Why only a dozen?

It does say “more” than a dozen.

The story just broke, so I expect that many, many more will be filing suit. Which is probably why the police are pursuing this case so hard. They can say, “look, we’re doing everything we can”. I would think this should cost the police department/community/insurance company a lot of money. Unless there is some kind of loophole protecting the police department from paying out.

263 cases still under review. This guy is a monster.

Oh please. He’s a cop.

Meh, these people were probably all guilty anyway. The officer would have known this by their “looks”. And they are only suing because they are hysterical nutbags who are only afraid of police because they are hysterical nutbags who are just looking at their own cherry-picked situation.

</sarcasm alert>

Before you criticize him, try walking a mile in the shoes of a policeman who plants drugs on people and then arrests them. Then you’ll feel different!

Not so sure, I’m already an asshole.

The victims of every single conviction that motherfucker ever had his hands in should be compensated by Fla.and have their convictions expunged. One of his victims lost custody of a child as a result.

Arizona cop is getting $2,500 a month because killing an unarmed man in a hotel hallway gave him PTSD:

It’s been a month and I cannot find any update on this story. As far as I know, this murdered is still walking free. Can anyone find an update on this? Have they even released the killer’s name?
