I wonder if that twerp’s favorite movie is Mother, Jugs & Speed.
I finally had a chance to watch these videos closer and on a larger screen. In the first one, I think maybe the red backpack guy pushed at the cop on the bike. It’s hard to see in the scrum, but when Idiot Cop pushes into Red Backpack, I think I see Red Backpack’s right leg move and plant as though he’s pushing or swinging at the stupid ass who just ran into him with a bike on the sidewalk. This in no way justifies the cops. First of all, why the fuck are they riding on the sidewalk and ramming pedestrians from behind? And second, the cops need to defuse situations like this rather than escalate them. But, assuming Idiot Cop is a poorly-educated, poorly-trained bully (a safe assumption, I think) I kinda see how the situation progressed. The cops are goons, but there’s a sort of narrative coherence to it.
That second video, though… what the fuck? A cop, who is nowhere near any protestor, and is in fact separated from the protestors by one row of cops, trips over his bike. Then, he rushes past the front line of cops to waylay a protestor for no reason I can make out. The cops in the front lines seem briefly surprised that Klumsy Kop is attacking, then they join in, because everybody loves a beatdown I guess?
As an aside, is it standard practice for cops to use bicycles as crowd control devices? A bike seems like a pretty poor crowd control device.
Is it possible they were in pursuit of the guy with the backpack, and wanted to arrest him based on probable cause of a crime?
If that were true, was this approach the best method to apprehend him? I know they teach to ram fleeing cars in certain situations, but do they also teach “ram people from behind with your bike”? If so, they need to get this training protocol published so they don’t appear to complete tools like they do in this video.
Bicycles are considered an effective form of crowd control.
Huh. I’ll be damned. Thanks.
Further down the comment chain is a longer video that shows the lead up to everything.
Nothing makes any sense in any of it. But don’t worry, the police are investigating!
The North Carolina cop who body slammed that kid twice, has been fired. May still be facing criminal charges. Article and video:
Why has the goon’s name not been released? Don’t we usually get to know the names of suspects in violent crimes, unless they’re a minor? Why are reporters not combing through his social media and his entire life history to find every thing he’s ever done wrong? I mean, it’s only fair. When the cops kills a guy, it’s inevitable that we get the pictures of the guy looking scary, or we hear about his past run-ins with the law, or we find out that he had Motrin in his bloodstream or whatever. I want to know everything this cop has ever done wrong in his entire fucking life.
New York Police Sergeants Benevolent Association president Ed Mullins blames Tessa Majors’s death on her by claiming that she was in the park where she was murdered in order to buy marijuana.
Remember, these are Seattle police. They are the scum of the profession. Twenty years ago this month, there was a WTO thing happened in Seattle that got a lot of press for several days. Since that little bit of ugliness, they have just gotten worse. On May Day of any given year, when there is an impromptu march in the city, they show up armed to the teeth with large sticks and riot gear, often outnumbering the marchers, and look for the slightest excuse to turn the march into a melee.
They are quite simply assholes. If you ever go to downtown Seattle, park as close as you can to where you have to go and spend as little time as possible between your car and that place, because the guys there who are paid to fight crime can be worse than the actual criminals.
A Pike County Ohio sheriff’s deputy pepper sprayed a man who was strapped into a restraint chair, then punched the defenseless man in the face eleven times. The deputy subsequently filed a workmans compensation claim for a broken hand.
That’s just straight up evil.
I don’t think so. No.
It’s fucked up, is what it is. He should be facing charges. Fuck him.

Oh, Pike County. What a surprise.
The deputy’s boss, the Pike County Sheriff, is currently suspended from office due to being indicted for theft in office and some other crimes.
Another recent Pike County deputy is in prison for manslaughter.
(This is not a large force.)
The Fort Worth cop who shot Atatiana Jefferson in her own house has been charged with murder.
