I take it that Congressman Paul has wrapped up the teenage girl vote, unlike that uggo Tommy Thompson.
Call him uggo if you will, but Thompson had quite a rep as governor for trying to sleep with as many women as he met, and rumor has it succeeding with most of his female staff. If by some wild chance (bomb at a debate that he’s not at?) he gets the nomination, I’m reasonably confident this could be used to destroy him. Actually, even earlier if he is ever seen as enough of a threat to do opposition research on.
The generosity of women never ceases to astound.
For some reason, many women seem to view men with power as ipso facto sexy.
I doubt the reverse holds true. Would you sleep with Hillary?!
Wolf Blitzer (CNN) just interviewed Ron Paul at length and allowed him to expand on his comments from the debate. Guess Wolf didn’t get the memo that Paul had been blacklisted.
If my job depended on it, during a recession, when I had mortgage payments to make, and I could wear a blindfold, yes.
Hell yeah I’d do it with Hillary. Like that comedian said, the roleplay would make it all worthwile. WHO spank IS spank THE PRESIDENT! spank
I think we’re talking at cross-purposes. I was responding to CanvasShoes’ assertion that:
There are many Democrats who think (and say) that Fox leans hard to the right. I’m one of them (and a signatory to that petition, IIRC). But saying Fox leans to the right is different from saying “we’ll let them (the righties) have Fox”, which carries the implication that “we (the lefties)” have the rest of the networks.
WRT Ailes being a loyal Bushie, mmyep, he is. I was attempting to reference that fact in a subtle fashion, and apparently failed. I think we’re on the same side, kemo sabe.
If “the left” has control of every MSM channel besides FOX…well, we’re screwed as a movement, aren’t we? I mean, they’ve carried the water for Bush and the GOP for the past seven years, every talking point has been credously aired and supported on countless shows with the exception of a few anomalous examples (Olbermann). Then again, I suppose one could say they’re emulating the example set by the Democratic Party…
In news that should come as a surprise to nobody:
(1) The GOP is trying to ban Paul from future debates.
(2) The Neocons continue their campaign to characterize him as a nut.
(3) Polls tracking the (R) candidates have begun intentionally excluding Paul.
What are they so scared of?
Looking like what they are: the party of big, bloated government and the trampling of personal freedoms. Best of both worlds.
Honestly, I don’t see any scandal in portraying Ron Paul as a nut. I don’t think it’s a neocon effort – I think it is more likely an effort by everyone who isn’t a libertarian. On the substance of the issue, reference the ongoing discussions in GD about what a flakey idea it is to support a return to the gold standard.
As far as removing him from polls, let’s get serious – the link was to (as Liberal put it earlier) an American Idol style poll. Let me say two things only on this issue: 1) I don’t care, and 2) I’m shocked – shocked – that Internet polls may not be an accurate measure of what the public is thinking.
Hell, I’m all for portraying Ron Paul as a nut.
Sadly, it has nothing to do with his being a libertarian, and everything to do with being a racist and anti-semitic flake.
I’m curious as to whether there are cites to substantiate Paul being racist and anti-semitic.
Ron Paul: Government and Racism
Quotes from Ron Paul’s political newsletter, circa 1992:
“If you have ever been robbed by a black teen-aged male, you know how unbelievably fleet-footed they can be.”
“Opinion polls consistently show that only about 5 percent of blacks have sensible political opinions, i.e. support the free market, individual liberty and the end of welfare and affirmative action,”
“Given the inefficiencies of what D.C. laughingly calls the `criminal justice system,’ I think we can safely assume that 95 percent of the black males in that city are semi-criminal or entirely criminal,”
“By far the most powerful lobby in Washington of the bad sort is the Israeli government.”
I don’t get it. The stopped clock is right for once, (unambiguously, according to Bin Laden’s own stated reasons for encouraging these attacks,) and that’s what they single out as “off the wall?”
Predictable, I guess - it’s an easily-exploited weakness.
It’s not as though he said the attacks were justified - but U.S. military presence in the Middle East is the primary thing that al Qaeda’s violence is a reaction to, even if it plays better in Peoria to claim that it’s because they hate the Great Game of Baseball and the Institution of Motherhood.
And apple pie! They can’t STAND apple pie!
NO NO NO! Can’t you remember ANYTHING? They hate our FREEDOM!
What we have left of it…
