OK, it’s 4 days later, still not smoking, we hope?
Still smoke free!! :D:D
I’ll be even happier when I am craving free. Actually, it is not much of a craving at this point. It’s more like I’d like a cigarette in certain circumstances as that is when I’d always take a cigarette. Triggers I guess. Pretty easy to resist.
So I guess everyone here did a pretty good job convincing me to stop smoking! ![]()
I don’t know if those ever really go away, though for me they have gotten much less frequent. It’s only been 2 years for me, and I still feel like I should buy a pack of smokes when I am in a 7-11, or light up when I get into the car. At this point they just make me smile, like, how strange that I still feel that way.
Yay!
No, you did that.
We just provided encouragement and support.
Still, y’all helped out. A lot more than you probably realize! It’s funny how the encouragement of, essentially, total strangers on a message board can bring a smile to your face and give you that little extra boost you need to do the right thing.
Try to smoke six cigarettes in a row as fast as you can. It will make you feel like total shit and amplify everything that sucks about being a smoker.
Then quit immediately after. When you have a craving, think of how you felt that last time. Sounds messed up, but it worked for me. I couldn’t make it past the third one and I didn’t even think about cigs for a while after.
Not in the OP’s case, it’d be dangerous to go back.
Ooooo…bad, bad, BAD idea for me. Nope, learned the hard way that I don’t want to do that. If it works for you, great! I can’t do it as it just kicks in my nicotine addiction.
