I am planning to give my sister-who’s-hard-to-buy-for a couple of jars of “Instant Cookies” for Christmas. You know, the kind where you have all the dry ingredients already mixed in the jar, and you just add the wet stuff, stir, and bake. What I’m looking for is a couple of good, easily resizeable recipes, so that she could take a cup or two of mix and make a handful of cookies at a time, instead of an entire batch at once. This means no eggs, 'cause it’s a pain to try to add half an egg, or a quarter of an egg.
Does anyone have any secret recipes they’d like to share? I’m off to hunt down some pretty jars.
I wouldn’t swear to it, but it seems like you can get powdered eggs. If you could track down some of those, you could put it in your jar, and she wouldn’t have to worry about it. I suppose you could also do that with powdered milk.
How about branching out from just cookies? There are bread mixes (or actual canned breads), cake mixes, soup mixes, dog biscuit mixes, all sorts of stuff.
Do a google search for gifts in a jar, and you’ll get a zillion recipes.
