I thought I’d seen everything on the internet, but somehow I’m stunned that anybody can say a mean thing about Gene Wilder. And he was terrific in Young Frankenstein and Blazing Saddles, by the way.
Darn! That issue was only black in Canada. I’ve never seen the colored one.
Did you manage to get the clear vinyl “Mini LP”? I have two copies of that one!
Mean? What’d I say that was mean? That being around Gene Wilder would be just too much. I think terrific is going a bit far though. My daughter would watch W.Wonka everyday when she was little. Think about it…everyday when you come home in the evening. Whats on tv? What are you watching sweetie? oompa loompa :smack:
Back to the OP…who played Leather Tuscadero(sp?) in Happy Days?
Don’t take it that seriously! (However, you did say being around him would give anybody a fuckin’ tumor.)
Try Googling for the two least common words. It may enlighten you.
That would be the leather-clad SUZI QUATRO (“Forty-eight Crash”, “Can the Can” etc).
I thought the same thing when I was writing that post, but I couldn’t figure out how to work it in.
(Also, only one “h” in “Eurythmics.” No; I don’t know why either.)
And let’s not forget The Producers.
Some Billy Joel trivia.
Itzhak Perlman played violin on “Downeaster Alexa.” They couldn’t use his name in the liner notes due to legal complications with him being on another record label. He was listed as “incognito violinist.”
The chorus for “This Night” is from the second movement of Beethoven’s “Sonata No. 8 in C Minor” (AKA the “Sonata Pathetique”)
The original London cast of “Godspell” included the young Jeremy Irons, the young David Essex, the young Gay Sopher, the young Julie Covington and the young Marti Webb. I wonder who the casting director was that spotted so much young talent.
There was a 1973 London musical called “Hulla Baloo” that included contributions from Tim Rice & Andrew Lloyd Webber–something that does not show up in their bios. Apparently this show, which was set in a “loo” was quickly forgotten.
The the issue of Plays and Players magazine that reviews the show also reviews I and Albert, which marked the West End debut of Sarah Brightman in “I and Albert.” She went on to become the second Mrs. Andrew Lloyd Webber and the second ex-Mrs. ALW. This has to be the first mention of the two of them in the same place.
Paul “Macca” McCartney has played celery on two seperate songs:
Receptacle by the Super Furry Animals
Vegetables by the Beach Boys
And by played I of course mean chewed
The very first song to be played on MTV was ** “Video Killed The Radio Star” by the Buggles**.
Lots of people seem to believe that it was “Money for Nothing” by Dire Straits which was the first song played by MTV Europe
Obviously, I misremembered what Casey Kasem said. After all, he couldn’t possibly be wrong. What he must have said was, “Jim Steinman is the only songwriter to have 3 songs by different performers in the Top 10 in the same week.”
Another bit: Phil Collins was the only performer to appear on both the London and New York LiveAid concerts. He played early in England, then hopped a plane in time to be one of the last acts in the U.S.
I don’t think that’s right. Liquid paper was around in the '60s. At least that’s what I *think * I was sniffing!
That’s cuz he was bonin’ either Peter’s or Gordon’s sister.
Wow. Not that I doubt you, but if I remember correctly, weren’t these releases REALLY far apart?
Paul was in a relationshiiip and living with Jane Asher’s family, including her brother Peter of Peter and Gordon. Gordan later went on the play “Joseph” on the West End.
Jan & Dean’s hit “Linda” was written for attorney Lee Eastman’s daughter “Linda,” later to be Mrs. McCartney, in exchange for some legal work
I’m lost. Are you saying to Google for “invention” and “necessity” (the two least common words in that particular phrase, I imagine)? I mean, I understand that necessity is the mother of invention and all…
Oh I don’t know. I need more coffee.
So no one else has heard the story of male rockers being the “Colored Girls” in Lou Reed’s Wildside? I can’t find a cite anywhere online.
Close, but no syringe. The money used to score the heroin was given to Sid by his mother who was under the impression he was going to use the money to just buy cocaine (What a mom!). For a full version of poor Sid’s last weeks check “Please Kill Me, the uncensored oral history of punk” by Legs McNeil and and Gillian McCain.
No really, you don’t.
Tony and Madonna conceived in the fall of 1991, but the fetus was aborted for having defects that were “not conducive to life”, according to Dr. Randy Harris at Cedars-Sinai in LA. I don’t know if that means a harlequin baby or what, but there you have it.
She also conceived with unfamous deabeat Andy Bird in the winter of 1997, but reports conflict over whether she had an abortion or a miscarriage.
Andy Bird was roommates with Richard Curtisjust before he moved to NYC to live with Madonna, and legend has it that Curtis’ screenplay Notting Hill included anecdotes from Andy’s experience dating Madonna.
I wish you had explained what a harlequin baby was before I did a google image search.
No more Madonna fact challenges from this section of the peanut gallery, I promise.
