In the early 60s, Joni Mitchell got pregnant, moved away from her family and had the baby. She kept it for a few months and then gave it up for adoption without telling her folks. It’s all in the song Little Green:
“Child with a child pretending
Weary of lies you are sending home
So you sign all the papers in the family name
You’re sad and you’re sorry, but you’re not ashamed
Little green, have a happy ending.”
Saw this thread and had to add that when John Fogerty released the album Centerfield it contained a song titled “Zaentz Can’t Dance” which was a reference to the producer Saul Zaentz and basically went on about what a thief he was.
When Zaentz got wind of it he raised a bit of hell and the album was recalled and the song title and the song itself was changed to “Vantz Can’t Dance”. So if anyone has one of the very first pressings of the album (not the cd) you may have a minor collector’s item.
