Sorta geeky.
Possibly amusing anecdote: an officemate brought these in a few months ago. He was doing the “pinch-toss” trick to make that rattling-buzz noise. I took them to play with them, and discovered that you can make distorted images and bizarre colors if you put one or both of the “eggs” against the screen of a CRT, as they’re way more powerful than ordinary magnets. I also discovered that if you leave them on the screen too long you completely fuck up the display. Luckily for me, I discovered this on his screen, and not mine.
This is the Geekiest prop of all, if you’re always prepared.
OK. I can see being covered in whipped cream. Or chocolate syrup. Or pudding. But Silly Putty?
Aren’t you concerned about hair getting stuck? And what about the “comic strip” effect? It would look like someone flayed off your skin when you take it off!
It’s not a stuffed animal, silly. It’s a stuffed dread eldritch creature. That makes all the difference.
Well, yeah, but if ryobserver laughs at me for holding it, does it bite ry or me?
American Science and Surplus usually has some good stuff. (Model brains, Soviet gas masks, glow in the dark paint…shucks, you could have a good weekend in Vegas with this stuff!)
United Nuclear is pretty cool as well. All sorts of cool and/or radioactive stuff, like Uranium Marbles (with free Uranium ore!)
… This is more for the hardcore Mad Scientist kind of geek, rather than the “hey cool, look at this sushi-shaped USB drive” geek.
Dang it, who had the “Black Death World Tour” 13th Century Tee shirt?
This is a good bit out of the listed price range, and from australia, so don’t know about shipping, but if it’s a computer nerd, i can’t see them not liking a USB Missile Launcher
I was just coming to post that toy.
I WANT ONE!
Words cannot express how much I want to get this and take it down to The Loop during rush hour amongst all the yuppies and their Bluetooths and the crazy people muttering to themselves.
Of course, with my luck, no one would notice. :smack:
