Coolant for 2001 Jeep Cherokee (2nd try)

If you answered the first thread please reply to this one. That thread is in the cornfield - who knows why.

I need to add coolant to a used car we bought my son. There’s yellow coolant in there now but I have no way of knowing if it is the old style of coolant (usually neon green but can be yellow) or the recommended Xerex G05 (an orange-yellow) If I put Xerex in there and is is the old-usually-green coolant will I hurt anything?
