Coolest TV/Movie car

While the car was indeed a replica, the Ferris Bueler car is a Ferrari 250 GT California, sometimes referred to as “CalSpy” (California Spyder).

Smokey and The Bandit changed my life. To this day, I still want a '78 Pontiac Trans-Am with T-tops and a huge Firebird on the hood. A whip antenna and cowboy hat are prerequisites for operating this car efficiently.

Youse guys are all wet (except for justwannano)–the all-time coolest car is, no contest, the TV Batmobile.

Barris built it from an old Lincoln show car. It was capable of about 80 mph, but apparently the steering was kinda dicey. Still, for sheer cool, the Batmobile is IT.

Batmobile from the first Batman movie. After that, they f-ed it up bad.

Turbo Interceptor from the Wraith

Some company or people actually built the Mach 5. It sold a month or so ago.

I’d have to say the 1988 Batman Batmobile was awesome. There were six of them. Four were operational corvettes, with Batmobile exteriors (I can’t remember about the insides of those). Two were for interior shots. I think (of the four operational) one was sold at auction, and one was given away as a Taco Bell grand prize or something.

I also have to agree with absoul on the 1967 Ford Mustang Shelby GT 500 from Gone in Sixty Seconds

And I’ll post my response from then, too.

I’ll post a few favorites, and let you all decide on each one’s respective “hotness” (the first 7 are my favorites, the rest are notable mentions):

-The black Porsche 964 Turbo 3.6 from “Bad Boys”
-The yellow 74 Plymouth Cuda Hemi convertible from “Nash Bridges”
-The silver modified 68 Mustang Shelby GT500 from “Gone in 60 Seconds (2000)”
-The Red MacLaren “Coyote” kit car from “Hardcastle & McCormick”
-The black Lamborghini Countach from “Cannonball Run”
-Starsky’s Torino definitely gets a vote in here…
-The green Audi S8 from “Ronin”

-The orange 69 Dodge Charger from “The Dukes of Hazzard”
-The yellow 69 Dodge Charger RT 440 from “Dirty Mary Crazy Larry”
-the white 70 Dodge Challenger RT 440 from “Vanishing Point”
-The black Plymouth Cuda Hemi convertible from “Phantasm”
-The black Ferrari Daytona Spider kit car from “Miami Vice”
-The white Ferrari Testarossa replacement for above
-the red Ferrari 250 Californian Spider kit from “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off”
-The silver Porsche 356 speedster from “Scarecrow & Mrs. King”
-The white Jaguar XJ-S from “The Return of The Saint”
-the green 68 Mustang GT from “Bullitt”
-The black 75 Pontiac Trans Am from “Smokey & The Bandit”
-the 1974 Dodge Monaco sedan Mount Prospect city police car from “The Blues Brothers” (cop shocks, cop brakes, cop susp…)
-the black (a lot of black cars in here) Ford Falcon XB coupe from “Mad Max”
-the black Dodge Interceptor prototype from “The Wraith”
-The modified 67 Pontiac GTO convertible from “The Monkees”
-The Lotus 7 Series 2 from “The Prisoner”
-The 65 Corvette Stingray from “Stingray”
-The 57 Ford Thunderbird from “Vegas”
-The Ferrari 308 GTS from “Magnum P.I.”

As for the Bond flicks, they pretty much deserve their own category:
-silver Aston Martin DB5 from “Goldfinger” & “Thunderball”, with a return cameo in “Goldeneye”
-green Aston Martin DBS V8 from “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service”
-white Toyota roadster from “You Only Live Twice”
-white Lotus Esprit from “The Spy Who Loved Me”
-red Lotus Turbo Esprit from “For Your Eyes Only”
-deep green Aston Martin Vantage from “The Living Daylights” (fave)
-highly-publicized-yet-pathetically-underused blue BMW Z3 from “Goldeneye”
-silver BMW 750iL from “Tomorrow Never Dies”
-silver BMW Z8 from “The World Is Not Enough” (fave)

…but to jump away from reality and go for the gusto?
-The Spinner from “Bladerunner”
…whew… I really know how to go on, don’t I? Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go out and get a life.

This sig intentionally left blank.

You guys are all suckas. Herbie has got to be the way to go. It can communicate with people (granted not as well as KITT). It can pop wheelies. And it can drive on water. Plus, does Herbie ever lose when the chips are down?

It doesn’t matter what the car is as long as Jim Rockford (Jim Garner) gets to drive it. I loved those chase scenes from The Rockford Files, and how his gold Firebird got the hell beat out of it each week.

I’m ganna have to cop to watching a rather bad movie to do this, but it showed my dream car so…

Someone’s gonna have to help me with the title (to lazy for imdb), but an Eastwood movie that, I THINK, had Charlie Sheen in it… the bad girl in the movie got into a '56 silver gull-wing Mercedes.

I nearly passed out. I’ve been fantasizing about this car since I was a little kid. The ONLY thing worth mentioning about that movie.

TV: I really can’t think of one that’s not been mentioned. The Mystery Machine?

What you got there is, The Rookie.

The late 60’s Volvo P1800 from the Saint tv series (with Roger Moore).

Oh man! What was I thinking? I’m changing my vote to the DeLorean from the Back to the Future movies! I mean, that bastard ran on garbage, could fly, and TRAVEL THROUGH TIME!!! SWEET!

And, sorry for redoing a not-so-old thread.

Oh, and that OTHER thread never mentioned the Jag hearse. So THIS one is better. :stuck_out_tongue:

I have to cast my vote for KIT from Knight Rider, as well. I was so in love with that car!!

Of course, I also have an affinity, albeit not as strong, for the Delorian from Back to the Future

The Homermobile has all you beat.

How about the gold Trans-Am with the eagle on the hood the was driven in his off-duty time by Ponch on CHiPs.

That car is the ultimate in cheesy-cool.

Can it jump over obstacles by extending pneumatic jacks?
Do its headlight beams traverse singly or in tandem?
Does it sport front-mounted circular saws?
Is it bulletproof?
Can its tires be protected by a retractable tread guard?
Can it operate under water?
Does it have a mechanical homing pigeon?
Does it have those little winglets that pop out of the sides, which they copied from the Car Acrobatic Team?

If not, it ain’t the Mach 5.

well I have a couple

shelby cobra from bad boys (someone mentioned this car in a movie I never saw)
The Batmobile (his secret weapon is the ultimate chic magnet)
the twin Ducatti’s from fled (I know they’re not cars but they still kick ass)

One of my faves too, but it wasn’t green. It was brown.

Rumour has it that Aston Martin will once again supply the Bond-mobile for the next flick. The contract with BMW was terminated by the 007 production company, because those evil German bastards sold off the all-British icon Rover .

Most likely, Bond will be driving the DB7 Volante. 'Scure me. I just creamed my pants.

If so:

The ‘Miyuki Special’ from the anime/manga You’re Under Arrest - A Subaru R2SS which Natsumi bought just after getting her driver’s licence because she knew nothing whatsoever about cars, and which her partner Miyuki pretty much rebuilt from scratch so that it could actually run down the sports car of the guy who duped Natsumi. ^^ Ugly little thing, but…WOW… ^^

http://www.mymach5.com They made one that had the blades, spy bird, periscope and auto-jacks and that was auctioned off (proceeds went to national child safety or some such). But they are making more or them as well as soon to be making the Shooting Star (thats Rex Racer’s aka Racer Xs’ car).

Mach 5 gets my vote. I have two 1/16 models and a 1/18 remote version. Every lottery ticket I buy is for the sole purpose of buying the real deal.
