Cops running red lights

What? Donut shops can’t get robbed?

<j/k>

Well, I think you’re on to something here. Isn’t the standard practice among doughnut shops to provide free coffee and doughnuts to law enforcement personnel? It encourages police to have a heavy presence, and you’d be silly to think about knocking over a doughnut shop if you were looking for an easy victim. On surface it looks like goodwill, but I guess deep down you could think of it as a type of small bribe for assured quick response if some dummy really decided to target a doughnut shop.

Back in my youth I worked at McDonald’s, a corporate store. The policy was to comp. everything whenever a police officer came by.

Since I don’t bandy about at night so much anymore, it’s been a while since I’ve seen congregations of police at doughnut shops. I don’t know if the younger, healthier cops prefer to hang out as Einstein Brothers instead. :slight_smile:

Indeed. A buddy of mine worked in a donut shop for a while in high school. He said that one time, someone actually did try to rob the place. Before the crook could even get out the door, there were police from three different munincipalities on the scene.

Since this one has been answered to my satisfaction and…

since people can’t seem to remember that they are in General Questions, and…

since OP’s can’t seem to ask questions without adding baggage that belongs in the Pit, MPSIMS, IMHO and Great Debates…

this one is off to MPSIMS.
