i have corel 9 and recently started using xp. corel is very unstable. have looked everywhere for a fix.
i tried to download xp service packs and they take 170 minutes on dial up and were halted twice, so i gave up. i looked all through the corel site and found nothing.
in adobe on xp i found you could tell it to go back and operate on win98. is there a similar setting for corel?
And, are you talking about WinXP’s compatability mode, with that comment about ‘telling it to go back and operate on Win98’? If you want to try that, just right-click on what you’d normally click on to run the program (does that make sense?), click on ‘properties’ on the menu that comes up, then the ‘compatability’ tag. It should be clear what to do from there.
Also… are you sure the version of the software you’re using (what ever Corel product it is) is even compatible with WinXP?
went right to properties and sent my corel draw 9 back to win98, hopefully that will solve the problem.
my corel draw 9 may or may not be compatible with xp.
here is one of the stupid things it was doing. when you are trying to place a line of type using the “nudge tool” instead of moving into place the type would dance back and forth. corel was also running dreadfully slow in xp.
