corning ware coffee pot Q

I have unearthed a vintage ( 60s or 70s, I’d guess ) pyrex

coffee pot; one that sits on your stove top.

The question is can I use it on a gas top or do I need a mat thing to

stop it cracking?

It is one of the white one’s with cornflowers and holds 9 cups.

I remember using it on an electric hot plate but haven’t used it on a gas flame.

I need to know if it still makes great coffee.

Thank you, thank you. Twitch…twitch…caffeine…ahhhhh…

This points to an old style percolating Pyrex coffee pot and suggests direct heat. If you search on something like “pyrex direct heat” or “pyrex open flame” you’ll see that it won’t be an issue.
